Almost everyone will get some kind of chip in their car windows at some time. So, what can you do about it? Do not ignore it. A chip can be repaired for less than $100, most insurances will pay for it, and waive the deductible. If sealed soon enough, it will not crack out. A "cheap window replacement is often $250 -$750. If you notice a chip, do not wash the window, or use wiper fluid, etc. You do not want water to get into it, or dust and debris. Use a piece of heavy duty clear packing tape to put over it until you get a repair person to fix it. It will keep it clean so you get a better repair. It will not stop it from spreading, so act quickly. Many chip repair people are mobile and will come to you. I have been learning stuff this week, so I thought I would share it with you.

some ca glue will fix it. (crazy glue, super glue) thats if its not something that has to be drilled out first. you can also buy a 2 solution epoxy mix in most auto stores. some come as a kit with the tubes.

Does it come with a guarantee? I have seen some of the epoxy stuff, but I would not use it. I would mess it up big time.

I have three in the Kia. But I had to replace 2, or was it 3 windshield in the P.T. when I drove it daily, $300 each time out of pocket.

Do you have insurance on your Kia? If you get them fixed a lot of insurances pay the whole thing. I hope you do not end up replacing the windshield. We went out and looked at breaks in junk yards and hubby worked on his skills there with the guy who was training him.

I know we forget that in some countries the area is very walkable. If I had to walk where I need to go I would never get there.
