Smilies say more than words. They express our thoughts effectively. I use them now and then but there is one user here where his discussions, responses and comments have more smilies than words.
@AKRao24 plays with smilies like no other. Wonder what will happen if myLot stops us from using smilies
Have you noticed it too?

They are such a help specially since we cannot see facial expressions that can say much more than words.

@allknowing I agree, sometimes a simple emoji is better than many words.

Wow! What a discussion.... Enjoyed it!
I liked it..no need to say why?
But then I coudln't respond to this lovely discussion for some reason!
I could read the post and at the same time I was handicapped to answer back!
Reason? I will come in my next discussion which made me much more closed to this
site!
Believe me...I am so overwhelmed with what so ever happened....that I am sure people here will come to know how lucky we are to have such a vigilant admin and the group!
Thanks a lot @allknowing , I knew you are sweet heart but never had the idea that you have this much sweeter heart!

@suni51 As long as it is only the smilies that bore you and not discussions all is fine

@allknowing that's what I intended it to look like. I feel bored while opening the smilie box. I feel too lazy

I like these emoji. Sometimes it can express something that language can't express.

@allknowing No, I've tried. I think the site is set up just to accept the ones provided.

@allknowing yes because on fb people make it a habit of posting those and no words , not my facorite way to communicate.

@Shiva49 myLot is a place where anything is allowed - wrong spellings, wrong grammar the works. Very few like you take the trouble to express themselves in a language that is music to one's ears.

This is the right place for me to tell you that what you write is always crystal clear

@allknowing Thank you. I have heard similar sentiments over time on other sites too.
I feel we should make it worth our while not only for us but also for others too in whatever we do.
We should rely on our strength but also be aware of our weakness - siva

I like to use emojis to reflect what I am feeling especially if I am happy or laughing at something funny. I think they emphasis what I have said and lets the other person know the expression on my face while I was writing my comment. are my favorites that I use most often.

Smiles are great - and seem to be universal . I like to use emojis to wrap up what I just said (sort of like a punctuation to end a sentence but more expressive). And then sometimes there is just nothing left to say . . . but an emoji can tell a person just how I feel.

They are indeed powerful when it comes to expressing what we wish to say.
