Last year I read a book by Rough Guides on how to get cheap flights. I have two children so I need to go in the school holidays. The man said to get one way flights on low cost airlines. So we tried this out in August 2017. Our route was Bristol-Berlin, Hamburg-Mallorca, Mallorca-Amsterdam and Amsterdam-Bristol. It was on the airline called EasyJet and it cost £330. However it being in August the accommodation was expensive. We travelled by train from Berlin to Hamburg.
Do you have any ideas of how to get low cost flights?
Do you mind an early flight of 06.00 in the morning?

In my experience, all flight fares go up when children have their school holidays. I went with my youngest daughter twice during the children´s holidays and I decided that I will not do it again. Besides, many of the places are full and we had to accept staying only where there was room for us. This winter, I´m going with grown ups in June instead of waiting for the children to be everywhere in July.

@marguicha I save money each day and it soon adds up. Yes, I keep it separate to my current account.

I also like non-stop flights because it makes me feel unwell the more a plane lands. This book was really worthwhile to read however the author would go anywhere as long as it is cheap.
Richard Quest on CNN went around the world on budget airlines, It took him 8 days.

We go overseas once a year and we book our flights when they have promos ..
But during school holidays or long weekends , flights are more expensive ..

It sounds as if you have lots of adventures. I have not traveled much by plane at all.

Try to search for cheap air tickets constantly. There are number of airlines that provide cheaper tickets especially in off season or on the routes which are no crowded. I have a particular airlines "Air Asia" that operates internationally as well inland with such offers. They provide even better if you carry only cabin luggage. I am sure you know about such airlines in your area too.

I've read that it can be less expensive to travel on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Cheap flights are always good to have. Sometimes you gotta wake up early but it is good in the end.
