Memorial Day weekend and a chiropractor appointment

I’ll break these paragraphs up over the days they occurred starting with Friday. My son and I went to the park and played basketball. It was my sisters birthday so after dinner we went over for cake and ice cream. My son and I both wound up a little sunburned. Before bed my daughter had me watch a movie with her called “Call me by your name” but she was bored and quit watching it after 5 minutes. It was okay nothing very good. Saturday morning a friend surprised me by dropping by. I hadn’t seen her in a year as she moved halfway across the country. It was such a nice surprise. Our high school was showing a movie about local history and I went and watched it. Later my boyfriend came over and spent the night. Sunday afternoon my daughter and I went shopping. Monday morning a guy knocked on my door asking if I wanted to get rid of the big pile of metal out in my yard I had collected. It’s been 2-3 weeks I’ve been waiting for a different guy to come pick it up who wanted it. I’m sick of it sitting there and having to mow around it. This is the second time someone stopped to ask so I told him he was welcome to it. I know this man collects metal and uses the money to fix the feral cats in the neighborhood so I feel it went to a great cause! Yesterday my daughter had an evaluation with a chiropractor. Her necks been bothering her when she lays down and prevents her from sleeping. He looked and felt her neck and said it was very tight and it was actually swollen too. Tonight she goes back to get adjusted. Besides all this I finished a book I was reading by David Baldacci, tried lots of new recipes and cleaned A LOT! Photo is of my puppy sleeping with her head hanging off the couch.

@amadeo it was quite confusing quite a ways into the movie even. It really wasn't as good as I was expecting. My daughter and I watched a movie on similarly subject a few months back called "Love, Simon" and that one was amazing!

I am glad that the guy will use the money from the metal for a good cause, it's great to know. Your puppy is cute, almost the same color as the couch.

@LadyDuck she is such a nervous dog. She stays right by me every minute. If she's sleeping and I leave the room she gets right up and follows me. I figure a few minutes each day outside alone might help her get used to it.

Yes she is very similar in color to our couch She's wearing her new flea/tick collar and her new collar for when she goes out on a tie out. She doesn't like being outside by herself so she's only been out about 10 minutes a day.

@shaggin She surely had some bad experience if she doesn't like to be outside by herself.

Sorry to hear about your daughters neck glad she is getting it worked on so she can feel better and be able to sleep. Are your kids almost done with school? I bet you are glad the scrap metal is gone and now you don’t have to work around it any longer. I finished a book last night and started another one book 33 now will be posting about it here after dinner.

@Tina30219 I've been so tired out that I've been laying in bed at night reading for about an hour each night. I am really enjoying this book "The innocent" by David Baldacci. My son's last day of school is the 8th and my daughters is the 7th.

The metal you donated to that man who uses the money to fix feral cats in your neighborhood definitely went to a great cause! That's awesome that he does that, I wish more people would. My parents' neighborhood is overrun with feral cats who keep having kittens. My mom and sister have talked about trying to catch some and get them fixed. I hope your daughter's neck feels better after her adjustment. My sister has problems with her neck, going to the chiropractor and doing exercises for it really seem to help.

@Srbageldog cats breeding like that makes me so annoyed. I know people who just keep letting their cats get pregnant and having litter after litter. As soon as my cats were ok enough I had them fixed! My puppy is 9 months old and I had her scheduled to be fixed back in March but the vet had to cancel and I haven't heard back from her yet This reminds me I need to call her again.

@Srbageldog so you definitely understand why I hate when people don't fix their animals and keep letting them breed! That's awful your mom's had to deal with that. That's shocking how soon they can have litters! Reminds me of mice. My boyfriends dog went into heat a few months ago and it was so annoying. She bled for a month! Every where she sat in my house I had to clean up blood it was gross. I get mad he won't fix her. She has a bad hip and your not supposed to breed them when they have that. He makes plenty of money he doesn't need to breed dogs to sell especially knowing they will likely have the same hip problem as their mother and that's bad business selling puppies you know will have that. It's a few thousand dollars to fix the hip so most people have them put down after a few years when they start having to much pain to walk.

@shaggin Not only can they go in heat again right after having kittens, cats can go in heat and get pregnant as young as 4 months old -- when they are still kittens themselves! It's so sad. Then you wind up with all these feral, unwanted cats. That is sad about your boyfriend's dog! She definitely doesn't need to breed if she has hip problems, poor thing. A pregnancy would probably cause additional pain, I would imagine. Ugh, yes, the bleeding everywhere is so gross! My parents got their female dogs fixed, but their male dog is not fixed (technically he is my brother's dog and he didn't want to have him neutered.) The male is always pestering the females whenever some other dog in the neighborhood is in heat! I guess they can get confused from where the scent is coming from. I wish they'd get that dog snipped. He constantly humps things and is aggressive...such a nuisance. They say it'd be cruel to have him fixed now (he's 6 years old already,) but I disagree. It's cruel to let him keep trying to rape the female dogs because some other neighborhood dog is in heat!

Cute photo, You sound busy. I'm still not so busy still recovering from the knee but also painting and getting ready to take some slate to the store tomorrow. My kids are grown and live away from our home. Its quiet here but I like that too.

@PainsOnSlate I like the quiet but I would be so lonely without my kids. I dread an empty nest. You have your husband though so that helps I think to feel less alone. My birds are what makes the most noise around here. I was in the mood to paint some rocks this weekend but didn't get time. I hope to make some this week.

@DianneN the guy still hadn't contacted me about the metal and now it's been a month so I'm glad this man got rid of it all for me and like you said it's going to a great cause. Next time I have metal I know where this man loves and can asked him if he wants it. He lives right down the street from me by my father in law. My daughters neck is still sore. It being swollen worries me. The doctor felt it was an injury but she doesn't remember falling or anything.

@DianneN no I don't think chiropractors do x-rays or blood tests. She goes back tomorrow. If it's still swollen and bothering her next week or she gets worse then I'll take her to the doctor. I'd assume if he was worried he would recommend her being seen by a doctor but I'm not sure. Some doctors don't like to think they can't be the ones to heal them themselves.

@shaggin It's great that he lives close to you. I'm concerned about your daughter's neck. Did the chiropractor take X-Rays and blood tests? I'd be worried like you if it is swollen.

@LeaPea2417 busy but good. It took me 3 hours to mow my lawn today with my push mower. It was a beautiful cooler day so that was good. I did about an acre. I have another two acres to do another day. I'd prefer to repeat the whole busy week then mow lol

I need to do do a lot of cleaning too. Right now I'm still in bed with my feet propped up on four pillow so they are higher than my heart. I've had a cup of coffee and getting some mylot in. I intended to clean a bit every two hours and put my feet up in between but the wrappings we're too tight making it hard to move when on my feet. I've since taken off the ace wrap and the unna boot is more manageable now. Maybe I can begin a project here soon.

@MarshaMusselman Resting with your feet up like that can be pretty uncomfortable. Good thing for mylot so you can lay there and not be so bored. At night I lay and read for @5 minutes or more before I go to sleep.

I haven't seen that movie. I'm on a trip seeing my oldest daughter and my older grandbabies. We've been resting and just hanging out for now but tomorrow we'll head to another town over to shop and see a few sites.

@JESSY3236 My boyfriend read that Dark Tower series. I don't care for Stephen King books. If you went to the Uncle's party I hope you had fun! I am still reading The Innocent by David Baldacci. I really like it but haven't had a lot of time to finish it. I have another book by JoJo Moyes I can't wait to start before I read the other two books I have by David Baldacci.

@Jessabuma I've been busy but good! Today I have to mow the lawn. I have to do most of the 3 1/2 acres so I think by the looks of it I will be splitting it all up moving sections over the next 5 days as it's just all getting very long and too much to do it with a push mower all in one day.

@andriaperry immediately after he worked on her back she sat up and he asked if it felt better and she said yes. He said she might be a little sore tonight though. I'm happy to see it helped! She has another appointment in a week.
