Almost all my Followers are no longer here!

I have a whole list of people who are supposedly following me. But they were following me in 2008 when I started here and now they are long gone. Some started following me when I came back breifly in 2013 and they are gone now too. I only have a few real followers who are really here now. I wish I could remove the old ones. Is there a way?

The only way to remove followers from your followers list, unfortunately, is to visit each profile in turn and 'block', refresh the page (F5 or Ctrl+R) and then unblock them. Really, the only reason for doing this is if you like to 'recommend' discussions to people (because that's the only function that uses your list of followers).

To my knowledge, there is no way to remove someone from your followers list.

@GoAskAlice I blocked them and then Un-blocked them, so now they don’t show up on my list of followers anymore. Now only people who are really here are following me. If the others ever come back again, they can start following me again if they want to.

You can always make new followers. Once you chat with them they will surely become your followers.

It happens, people come and go, I would just concentrate on the discussions that pop up. You will get new people

I think there is some problem people are facing entering this site again.Right now I was unable to enter the site by entering address I had to enter through link from other site. This happened with me two days back and I have discussed about it here. Thanks.

I always feel guilty for not answering my followers' / followees' discussions on a regular basis. I think that's what we're supposed to be doing. But I like to look at discussions all over the place here, esp. the new users and discussions w/ no response. I'm always drawn to them....maybe because they're new and (usually) interesting. I kinda wish we didn't do the following-thing at all, I don't really see the point. We all follow each other around on here anyway.

Half the time I don't really pay much attention to followers. I simply pay attention to who is on my posts.
