This delicious and healthy fruit is one of my favorites. It is sweet and I can never seem to get enough of it. It grows on evergreen trees which are between 20 and 80 feet tall! In the USA (at least when I was there) they were very expensive and I could usually find them only at a Thai Buddhist Temple. Here they are a lot less money. I bought this kilo for only about USA$2.

I am not sure if they are available in Oregon. You can probably get them canned but then the flavor is pretty much gone.

To my knowledge it is not available here anywhere. I have wanted to try it, just because I love to try new things and people claim that it is a miraculous healing fruit.

Sorry you can not get it there. Supposed to be good for a lot of things from arthritis, blood pressure, etc.

I have got no idea about this fruit.I was watching the picture for the first time. Shape is bit funny. Each unit is a fruit or bunch of fruits? Do they have seeds in side and how is the texture of the fruit? I don't think we can get them in India. Thanks!

The person who owns my cellphone (me) forgot to plug it in last night so I am charging it now. When it is charged I will take a picture for you. The texture is soft and it is full of white "pods". Once you have the picture you will understand better!

I know I've heard the name, but I don't think I've ever seen or eaten them. Is this the Thai Buddhist Temple near me? I actually passed by there the other day and I thought of you. I just found out they had food there on weekends and I had no idea - what planet have I been on all this time? What do these taste like?

Yes, that is where I used to get them. A friend of mine told me that on Hollywood and Western there is a lot of Thai places now. Taste sweet!

I have this tree but it has so far not yielded and I doubt if it will as it is quite old now.

I'm pretty sure I had these in the Philippines, but I can't remember what they taste like. I haven't seen them here in Oz - maybe in the big cities, but certainly not out here in the country.
