INXS is the greatest rock band to come from Australia not named AC/DC. They are classic 80s who became huge crossing over from alternative/new wave to major mainstream success. The band began in 1977 in Sydney when high school kids keyboardist Andrew Farriss and friend singer Michael Hutchence put together a group originally called the Farriss Brothers. INXS’ popularity in the 90s waned in the face of grunge and Hutchence’s 1997 suicide ended INXS as we know it. INXS soldiers on albeit with new personnel. “Makes you wonder how the other half lives The devil inside The devil inside Every single one of us the inside” The song was written by Hutchence and Farriss and soared all the way to Billboard #2. The album was “Kick” which was the band’s biggest reaching #3 and going platinum. “Devil Inside” is a great 80s song and Hutchence a charismatic singer.
