Lady M crepes...have you tried them? / myLot

Fiacre's post about Ernest and Lady M reminded me of something from our trip to NYC. My daughter and granddaughter kept saying, "You've got to try the crepes at Lady M. They are fantastic!" We saw you could buy them at the Plaza Hotel food hall, but we walked (or rode?) to the actual shop. People were lined up outside. The restaurant was narrow and tiny, so if you wanted to eat there, you had to wait for a bit. Lady M crepes are many layers with frosting between each layer and look like a layer cake. There were several varieties and I chose the lemon. My daughter had one that had rose petals on top. I was really looking forward to trying the exquisite creations. I know I'm from a small town, but I thought, "For 8 to 12 dollars a slice, it had better be good." Well, it wasn't. Not to me anyway. I wondered what all the fuss was about. Of course, I didn't tell the girls that. But I'd much rather have had a slice of pecan pie. With ice cream. Have you had Lady M crepes?

Nope.I have never tried lady M crepes.. it's actually my first time hearing about it

A lot of people are willing to pay a lot of money for them....around $100 for a whole cake.

I would not eat a slice of crepe cake for that amount although I´d love to have a business that could sell them

In my nearest supermarket they sell a chocolate crepe cake. I always buy one for my birthday as you can cut very thin slices and then offer seconds. But a whole big cake would be bought for around $30.
