Update on our visit to Melbourne, Australia

We have been in Melbourne, Australia just over a week and in a few days we’ll catch a ferry to sail to Tasmania. We’ve stayed in our caravan at a park and most days have driven to our son’s tiny rented house to help him with some do-it-yourself projects. That would be more correctly called do-it-Mum-and-Dad projects!
We have had a very productive time overall. We purchased seven cheap Ikea Lack tables and made two towers for our son to stack his multiple computer whatsits on. We had to extend the legs on a couple so that was an interesting extra too. We have replaced some tarpaulin in the back yard which will keep the rain out of the area for a few more years.
We can now get to Ikea without the GPS and we’ve only got lost coming home once. We’ve been to the Nike store that is only for staff, family of staff and friends of staff. Today we’re going to a couple of factory outlets. Vin and I are looking to buy really warm winter pyjamas as we may not have heating in the caravan in Tasmania. We will also buy and install a cat door for our son.
We have visited the mother of an old friend and have caught up with two myLotters. We’ve been out to an Indian restaurant with our son and several of his friends and I think we’ll meet another tonight for a meal. So all-in-all it’s been a productive week. Now we’re looking forward to going to Tassie.
The photo is of a building that is a bit ‘different’ that we saw on our way home yesterday.

Getting lost is my worst nightmare! I did it on the way back from my vacation yesterday. It find it very scary especially when I have other people in the car to think about. You sound as if you're having a great time!

I read how you got lost. It happens so easily. We are about half an hour from our son's. When we took the wrong turn, although we didn't know it at that point, we were 11 minutes from home. We drove for about half an hour then turned the GPS on again and we were then 12 minutes from home!!

We only visit every one or two years so he/we make the most of our time when we're here. He isn't very good at DIY and that's an understatement.

I've laughed at do-it-Mum-and-Dad projects! You created a new, funny expression.

I love the architecture that photo presents. Several interesting buildings in that photo.
You did quite a lot for your son while you were there. I'm glad you're having a wonderful trip and meeting up with other myLotters is awesome as well.
