Downsizing like a used car sales person

Hey, hey, I heard that you liked to fix and fiddle with- insert vintage, if possible, antique, here, NOT old-things. Yes, I heard that you really wake up and live when you are in the company of an antique that needs a little love. IF you drive over here and don't ask me to figure a way to get it to you, you can have this- insert item. Try to come up with a story to go with the item. (That black rocking chair? My brother bought it from a garage sale in Kentucky when he was in Marine training. That was years ago and it was old then.) Emphasize that the piece is made of solid materials like wood. Oak is popular. Down play that there happens to be a split in the chair's seat. Lots of pleasant smiles and chatter. That helps the adoptee to carry the venerable objects to their truck and before you know it, driving off with what had been more stuff to pack for you. Total win, win.

@sallypup I have a sack that I take to the Salvation Army when it gets full and I take it every other month or so.

@Tampa_girl7 I just found somebody who wants a rolling leopard print suitcase that my Mom gave me. I love that suitcase but you know? Its just large enough that if I take it on a plane, I have to pay extra for them to put it on the plane. Just got to go though sentiment rings my chimes.

There's a buyer for everything, it seems. We can't wait for our son to move into his new home and take his antique car with him. He's been storing it in our two car garage for years! We have 3 of our own cars, so go figure.

Well, that is a nice way to clean out the house. Here we have donation areas to drop things such as that off. Also, many thrift stores in the area will take donations. One place will even come to pick things up if you have a big enough donation.

@Shellyann36 Good to hear from you. I wish a van would come pick up my exercise bike. I spent over 400.00 on it years ago. Now its just a large elephant in a room. I have to take things to the Goodwill if I want to donate them- clothes can be stuffed into one of their bins but nothing else.

@sallypup I hope you are able to get rid of it. I know that large objects like that are hard to move!

Your house is filled with a lot of treasure. There may be connoisseurs who will have an interest in them and pick up some of them.

i always love to clean the cluttered mess at home by doing the cleaning each and everyday and not just once or twice a week. The more you took long to clean the mess the more cluttered mess you are going to clean when the day comes.

I do not like a cluttered house so I put everything in the book case.
