Spring: Birds tweeting and Ear Piercing Ambulances!

Well Spring is almost over and I finally got my potted flowers mostly in. The weather has been warmer and I can hear the birds tweeting in the morning. I can also hear the ear piercing sounds of ambulances blasting down our street at all hours. We live near an ambulance centre and it's always pretty noisy (at least 3 a day), but it's been getting worse since the Spring. The ear-splitting sound sometimes gives you a jolt. I told my husband the other day that the sudden screaming noise and the red flashing lights are going to make me have a heart attack one of these days.... and then they'll have to come and get me next!! ha! Shheesh! These guys are loud- I am dreaming of my previous quiet neighborhood! I joked that they were scaring everyone just so they'd have more people to pick up! haha!

truly ambulances sirens are such a disturbance to the ear. I am annoyed with it too.

I understand they have to get through traffic but it is far too loud.

I am not sure I could live in such a noisy neighborhood. The noise stresses me a lot, I would be sick.

@MarymargII I have lived in busy cities all my life, Milan (Italy) when I was young and Monte-Carlo until 10 years ago. We were so stressed by the noise that we needed to find a quiet place, we were close to depression.

I was born and lived for some time in the busy city of Toronto so it could be worse. No we shall see if we can live with it. It scares you sometimes for sure.

@LadyDuck It does have its quiet times as its not in the heart of the city- but we didn't realize the traffic would be as bad or that we were near an Ambulance station :(

I can agree with you on that. Sometimes there are some ambulances have this loud noise on the road at night.

@MarymargII I agree. Sometimes I am quite concerned about my mom. What if she startled without expecting this loud noise.

Where I used to live we were constantly hearing the blaring sirens of ambulances and fire trucks. They certainly are loud and annoying. Now I live in a very quiet area and it's rare to hear sirens

I agree, they are loud. Especially when I have my windows open. I'm on a main road for them too.

I live near an airport so you can imagine how loud it gets when planes take off and land.

Hah! We didn't realize when we first got here- we are renting. However, at least they keep it quiet at night in the residential area until they get down the main beat. Ya a little unsettling but we like the area otherwise. We shall see.

We also have ambulances going on our street many times a day. We are less than 5 minutes from the hospital. It sure is handy when we need it.

But it can be loud and ear piercing but I do worry about the people they are going to.

Oh, I'd never be able to stand that. We live out in the suburbs in a quiet town. I hear the birds and even the owls every day and night.
