External feeling/sensation and Internal feeling sensation

Many of problems and issues in our lives are because of our inability to realize our feeling or categorizing it as bad feeling or good feeling. Feelings is beyond debates and one has to accept it the way it is without categorizing it as good or bad. Accepting the feeling is first step and then one has to learn how to express it in a right acceptable way. Right now I am doing a workshop for parents to understand a child's feeling and help him express it in a right way. I did one exercise of asking them to talk about one external feeling or sensation and one internal feeling. It was interesting to find that our behavior is affected by both. So let us express it here in this discussion. I start with..." I am irritated by the noise of fan in the room. That is my external sensation. Internally I am little anxious about my session tomorrow as I am not so well prepared for it. I realize that my internal feeling is making me irritated by a simple noise of fan" Feel free to share your thoughts and feelings.

Is it the external factor/pressure or some internal feeling that makes you feel so. Can you please share?

@arunima25 Usually it is a combination of both. Anxious with the things going on around me like when I make plans, I want it to happen at once and if it doesn't, I get so depressed. Overwhelmed in the sense that I feel that everything happens too fast all at once.

Quite an interesting and informative post. Yes, it is true that we communicate and convey something, we are governed by external, as well as internal factors (read emotions).

@arunima25 I think normally people do not accept it that their internal state of mind affects their behavior, they think that it is their external state of mind or external factors, which affect their behavior.

Thank you. It is so tough to accept that internal emotions are actually disturbing us more

@dpk262006 We always feel hesitant or miss to acknowledge our real inner state of feelings.

That is quite common. Sufficient eye shut is a must to feel fresh and active. So how you deal with your irritation?

Well, it all depends on the person and the time it is happening. I was irritated the other day because of the toys around the house.

Understanding your feelings is important. Most of the time I'm happy and my feelings show it.
