What do you think about mylot paying whatever we earn monthly

June 5, 2018 11:34am CST
I'm just wondering the idea behind the $5 minimum payout, is not as if we are paying some PayPal fees to warrant withdrawing at higher amount to avoid high fees.I believe it will be better one get paid whatever one earn at the end of the month. What do you think?

I think it is fine as it is. paying everyone monthly would increase the admin workload massively so I can't see them doing that. If it isn't broke don't fix it and the payment system has worked fine for 10+ years.

What is the most that you have gotten paid?

@Ladanger I'm very inactive so the most I remember getting was around $9.

The minimum used to be $10.00. There were a number of people who had a hard time meeting that amount. So we did a few trial runs with different amounts, one month we even lowered it to $1.00. The majority seemed to do well with $5.00, so that is what we settled on.

I think it is probably better the way it is ...it would be costly for a company to pay out pennies to people who have not earnt very much ....whether it be because they haven't had much response to posts or maybe they haven't been on here very much. It does not take along time to get to $5.

Well some people are not that active and it would not make sense for those people that only earned say a few pennies in one month. I don't think Mylot wants to be paying out to people only a few cents each month.

I don't understand how much we get paid per comment

It's more holistic than that. all earnings are estimates until payments are made. Total payment will be based on a percentage of add revenue, proportionate to the over all interaction on your posts as well as some of your activity.

There is no set amount because we don't earn per discussion/response/comment. You only earn if someone interacts with whatever you post and even then there is no set amount as the earnings algorithm is secret.

I think that the thinking behind a minimum payment is partly to ensure that members are encouraged to be active but also to give Admin more chance to detect and remove plagiarists and people who are trying to scam myLot before they can actually benefit from their misdeeds.

I think admin needs to spend more time for paying.$5 thresholds is fair in my point of view.

@augusta123 Look as many have previously added on this point and I'm sure you too are well aware of - this is not a get-rich-quick platform nor does it promise to be one. It's a simple interface platform where all of us engage with one another amicably, humorously and in-between, even sharing our life experiences and knowledge. I could not personally care less about the minimum $5 threshold as long as the conversations remain as pleasant and mature as it is. Pertaining to your statement about being paid whatever one earn at the the end of the month - it is simply not feasible for the company to do so, hence the enforced threshold.
