My nephew recently got married. He is in his late 20s. Both he and his wife are working, so they do not wash their clothes nor underwear. In your opinion, who should be responsible for the washing? A) his own mother B) his grandmother C) his wife D) his mother's maid E) Dhoby Guess what? His grandmother washes both adult's clothes and underwear! Ungrateful grandson, isn't it?

Undergarments are personal. They should be washed by the person.

@vandana7 I meant , we have option. It doesn't mean I don't want to wear. Its an event available to you when you try to see the probability. I wash mine too Only undergarments.

They should do laundry when they are at home not working like most of us.

Agreed. I'm sure they're not working 24/7 7 days a week.

They best thing is that they do the wash together. But if the grandmother wants to do then they should pay her for doing the wash.

Seriously? I would not want my grandmother (if she is still alive) to wash my clothes and underwear.

Doing laundry is not that big of a chore. I don't know why some people can't do it for themselves. Passing your dirty underwear to your grandmother is totally unacceptable.

@lovebuglena Some men like to stay away from things they don't understand. ;) Take...a washing machine for example. Hehe. I've seen my dad do laundry and it's quick wash for everything he puts in there LOL. At least he seperates his whites.

@Nightcore Nothing wrong with quick wash if clothes are not soiled and just need to be refreshed. But maybe that's the only cycle he knows how to turn on.

I worked all my life as well as my husband, but just like @thehousewife I did the laundry, I cleaned the house and I cooked.

Are you kidding? Why on earth would she do it unless she has nothing else to do all day and charges them. If I had to do it I would charge them for laundry service.

Oh my! It is a shame that the underwears are not washed by themselves. Before, even if I had a laundry woman who washed our clothes when we were in the Philippines, we washed our own underwears. Thankfully, we have a laundry machine now. Your nephew and his wife should wash their clothes themselves. Not their own grandmother. That's a "NO GO".

@peachpurple I think they need to get a schedule and both do it.

Unless they are incapable of doing so -- every adult should wash his or her own underwear.

They should do their work. They should take their responsibility on their own as they are married now. If they are too busy then they should appoint a maid who will do this work for them. You don't do that.

Ooo multiple choice question. Always good at those! :) Answer is none of the above. They should be responsible for their own belongings. He is certainly not a child anymore!

He and his wife should do their own wash, in whatever way they choose. It is not a grandmother's job to do it.

They need to try and get what they can done together after work. If they can take a quick nap first then get on to laundry or whatever they've got the energy and time to accomplish. If grandma or mama is happy with doing things for them, let her be. If there are any other young, able bodied, unemployeed family members living in the house, they need to pitch in and help out. After all it's probably the nephew and wifes money that goes to support them. They can get their own maid if they need one.

My grandmother often did mine when I was little! However, once I became an adult that became one of my responsibilities. I do my kids because they are little... but my kids are learning and wanting to do their own stuff. So they are learning and I help along the way as they need it. :)

I would think they could do their own laundry. They could take turns doing it so that one of them isn't always the one doing laundry. Who does the rest of the chores? Why would you want your grandmother doing your laundry? I wouldn't want mine do anything for me except sit in the chair and keep me company if she were still alive.
