Harry Potter and Cursed Child - Worth or Bah?

After finishing the 7 books about Harry Potter, I decided to read Cursed Child, the 8th Book by JK Rowling based on a Harry Potter play that starts from final chapter of Harry Potter and Deathly Howwlows. However I found this was Bah, something tension and boring; so I stopped reading it before it reaching middle. I stopped reading it in Part One. Childrens are growing up without actual story, their school life, and Potter's Ministry life are slow but ending fast. Everything is messed up. And I think the storyline is also messed up. Yet when I searched the response of the Play/Book ; many critics gave Cursed Child 4 to 5 star rating. Printed book also sold like hot cake. Really I don't think this book is worth for reading. But your response?

@thislittlepennyearns Ok Ok but didn't you felt unease with it, they are growing up without any story? Just Potter son revolting against his father?

Was there actually a book? I thought it was play. I don't know anything about it yet. I might have to go find a copy somewhere to see it for myself.

@yugocean Hmm... I think I'd prefer to try to read it first before giving it a rating. ;) Don't really know what the story is at this point.

I never tried to read the books. But I am looking forward to reading them if I have a lot of time. I do think it should be read them because the adapted movies lack some of the details of the stories.

@yugocean I agree. That's the reason why some film critics suggest to read the book first before watching the films.

@Shavkat I read the books later and enjoyed the books more; as for cursed child, I will probably finish it today, movie will come later.

Not some, many of the details are missing, main story was much better.

I enjoyed it the second time; I was too busy trying to understand what was going on the first time I read it. I have not picked it up since, though. The same goes for "Fantastic Beasts" (the screenplay). I don't find it easy to read plays.
