Fire Ants-Stove-Sprained Wrist

I had finished taking care of the cats and was ready for my first cup of (coughee); when I see Fire Ants crawling all over the stove. Oh great!!!! That means they gained entry 'behind' the stove at the wall and floor; which means that I have to PULL out the stove from the wall. Now mind you; an average stove weighs between 170 and 220 pounds and I weigh a whopping 104 pounds. Does that deter me??? Hell no!!! I know if I don't get to the problem, my whole kitchen will be filled with those beggars. It took me 5 minutes to wrangle that sucker out of there. I sprayed insecticide all over the live ants as well as the cabinets, floor and wall. I waited til they all croaked; wiped them all up and resprayed the entire area. Then went outside to spray along the area where they would have come in. I waited for 1/2 hour to make sure no more was coming in and then wiggled the stove back into place. Total outcome? Dead ants and a sprained wrist. Geez, I just can't win.

Aren't fire-ants the ones that devour anything that gets in their way? I guess not. I hope you have been able to get rid of them for good.

@JudyEv Oh now, that's not good. And these amazing critters can tunnel below ground the height of a 4-story building.
