Surprise-Surprise!

As if my life isn't boring enough. Generally I try not to use the AC in the car unless I really have to, so what I do is try and get all chores done before 10am. Well, yesterday I had to go to town for supplies and it was already over 96 degrees, so I turned on the AC. Waited.......waited.....Oh Crap!!!!!
I got home and felt like I was wearing a soggy, wet blanket on my body and got to thinking that it had only been 2 years since I had the AC checked, cleaned, blown, and filled with Freon. Now mind you; I bought that car in 2000 and it wasn't until 2016 that the AC needed to be worked on. And here it's only been 2 years?
So I called the shop and they said it would probably be about $92 to get it done. Yeah, well that ain't happening until the beginning of July when I get some money. Soooooooo.....with temps going to reach 100 every day down here in Texas, I'm just so thrilled; after all, there's only 22 more days left in June. My Saga just continues.

Hi Nanette. Just when you need to use the aircon and it turns out like that. It was indeed a surprise.

I would imagine not having A/C in the car would make the car even hotter during the summer. I remember the good old days before cars had a/c and we only rolled the windows down for some air

Oh yeah @Marilynda1225 , I had many cars without the AC. Geez, we've become spoiled. And let's not mention the houses with only box fans for cooling.

I think like that sometimes that I will get all the worst stuff out of the way before the heat really starts getting going and it goes up and up.
Its what I like to do as I have no air conditioning at all and I donĀ“t like the really hot stifling days either.
Sorry you have to wait till July for the air conditioning though.

@nanette64
Same as me here and before the heat of the day starts so I have everything done and can take it easier.
Spain gets tremendously hot and for about three months its continual a lot of times.

Yeah, it sucks @lovinangelsinstead21 but you can bet I'll be getting things done a lot earlier in the morning.

@nanette64 I remember that our stopped working while we were on a long trip and (of course) it was during July, the hottest month of the year.

Yes he does @amadeo . I might even pick up a battery-operated fan that you attach to the dash for surprises like this.

That is some terrible news. It's rough enough being in a hot car but the cost to repair your AC probably effects you even more than the soaked clothing.

I would love to use our van more, but it does not seem to have working a/c. Hubby tried filling it, but it was already full. It can be awful.

Oh yeah, we get lots of days where it's 100 + (37.77 Celsius) @MALUSE . In 2011, we had 67 straight days of over the 100.

Yeah, that was definitely my bad waiting until the afternoon; but then again, at least I found out there was a problem @JudyEv .

I feel you pain, when my cars a/c went out it was very bad.
We have came so far I wonder how people back in the old days handled the heat, no fan or a/c.

Yeah, I had several cars back in the day with no AC @andriaperry . Or in the houses I lived in. I blame it all on Global Warming.

I would love to find a place where the high temp is 80 and the low is 60 @Kandae11 . But then again, I probably couldn't afford to live in that location.
