Hating summer?

Someone said to me recently -" I really hate summer" . She didn't say why but it is hard for me to imagine that anyone living in a country where the winters are cold, really hating summer.
Here in the Caribbean , near summer like weather is experienced the year around - but July and August are the hottest months. And that is the only thing I can think of that I dislike about summer - the extreme heat we experience during those two months. Everything else is fine - summertime is fun time.
Can you name one or more things that you do not like about summer?. What do you like best about summer?- And which season of the year is your favorite?

Summertime is my all time favorite! I love everything except mosquitoes.

Yup, mosquitoes are a nuisance and not something i thought about when saying I enjoy summer

I like spring and fall weather temperatures most but summer comes next. Aside from the extreme heat that summer brings I like that it stays lighter longer giving us more time for outside fun. I think I would do well living in the Caribbean

We have consistent weather here when it comes to temperatures but month of May could see a bit of heat which for me is tolerable. The best part of summer is that we can drink and eat cold things. And it is the fruit season here.

I can't stand extreme heat. I feel best in spring, early summer and autumn. The climate in Central Europe is just right for me. My husband, who is from Southern Italy, loves complaining about the rain which we have too often for his liking. But no green nature around us without rain!

@TheHorse Our lands for all our dirt...they release a nice scent when the first rains fall. You can ask any Indian. My little sister who is based in Houston once wrote ..even the soil here does not have the fragrance of first rain ..I miss my homeland that much.

I agree with you. It's only those extreme heat days. Everything else is great.

If I lived by the beach would love summer. Live in the desert and is really only season I strongly dislike. Winter sucks, but its California and really no reason to complain compared to anywhere else in this country other than Hawaii and then think how much more expensive Hawaii is than even California and then I shut up.

@Kandae11 What? I am putting my foot down. You better go pay homage to that lovely piece of heaven you have there. Watch the dolphins play and seagulls soar. Nothing like seeing free animals in the wild so happy. Better indeed pay respect because makes us remember what it is all about.

July and August are the hottest months also here in Switzerland. I do not like cold months, but I also dislike summer. There is more noise because people stay up later. Kids are home from school and they are around (making noise) all the day. I see nothing positive about summer, except the fact you dress with nice light clothing.

Summers are hot and humid...But also have Sumner vacations ..So that makes me look forward to it

if I have to spend 1/3 of my summer day (the free time) watering the garden, another 1/3 to weed, then that is why I dislike summer badly. The only good thing about summer is the brightness of the day, the blue sky etc (less depressing that way!) and how quick flowers grow (vegetables too, that is, if they survive the heat).
Hate those mosquitoes and flies which come with summer!

Hi Kandase. The scorching heat is one and can really sweat a lot. Summer is the best time to hit the beach and swim.

I love summer but I don't like the humidity. It is the humidity that weighs you down, makes you sweat and exhausts you. Spring is my favorite time of year. The weather is nice and warm. Not cold, not hot but just right. And the humidity level is low.

What do I hate about summer?
The extreme heat!
Thankfully we only have a couple of weeks of that. I think we can find ways to survive those couple of weeks.

I don't like summer because of extreme heat.
I like it because of summer vacation, we can go to picnic and etc. And my favorite season is spring..
