Air Frying...do you have an air fryer?

My daughter came home from work last night all excited about getting an air fryer. Apparently the other girls at work have them and were raving about how awesome they are. One girl went out on her lunch hour to buy one and my daughter ordered one online when she came home from work. She got me all excited about it too and now I'm wondering if an air fryer is really all that. So, I'm throwing this out there for my myLot friends and wondering if anyone has an air fryer and if so, what do you make in it aside from french fries? From what I hear you can make a whole bunch of things but since I'm not one who really fries much anymore I'm really wondering if this is something we'll get use of or will it just take up space on or under the counter. I'm all for convenience when it comes to cooking. Hoping someone here will be able to offer some advice

No, I rarely prepare French fries at home (or cook potatoes), and French fries prepared without oil are no more French fries if you ask me.

@LadyDuck I have never tried, but I have tried fries in an oven, and they are also not really good. There is no secret, one needs a fryer to do French fries.

I have tasted food made in an air fryer, I will not buy one. If I want French fries I will make the real thing or eat something different.

@Marilynda1225 I also like the French fries crispy, cooked in the oven or in the air fryer they are not crispy.

I'm going to see what else it will make other than French fries. I do like my fries fried in oil and crispy.

Most people that have them think they are awesome. I am getting one as soon as I get my big check I deserve one small indulgence.

@Marilynda1225 Yeah, most seem to like them. I remember those hot air popcorn poppers though, I used to have one they weren't very good. Lets hope the air fryer is better.

I don't have one but I think you can do a variety of veggies in them. I guess it's one of those things you have to be really creative with.

I don't eat fried foods, so it wouldn't do me any good.

I don't eat fried foods either but the air fryer is supposed to be a good substitute . I know you are on your Whole 30 so you probably wouldn't have a need for one

@Marilynda1225 Even without Whole30 I didn't eat fried foods, so it wouldn't have been in my best interests to get one. That would be more for people who love fried foods and it's part of their daily or weekly routine.

I don't have one. I don't do much frying so I too wonder what you could cook in it.

From what I hear you can cook almost anything in it but I'm skeptical. I'm really hoping it works for us as a more healthy wayt o cook food that would otherwise be fried. Guess we'll see

Air fryer gives food as tasty as if is fried in oil without using much oil. So it is healthy to have food fried in air fryer instead of fring it on stove

I do not have one. I have been more tempted by that than by an Instantpot. I have too many gadgets at this time. I probably would not use it.

No I do not have one but do hear about it here as others too have talked about it. You seem quite excited in that there should be a party in honour of your air fryer when it arrives (lol)

There are models already available in our local online store Lazada ( similar to your amazon), price range differs a lot depending on model. I read the product description, what it does I think is fry without oil ( makes food healthier) by circulating hot air using high speed fans, never had or tried out one yet.

Yes supposedly you can cook anything without using all that oil to do a traditional frying.
