Does season work as a personality predictor?

Here's a question I've been pondering as the year has finally wandered into my favorite time of year - early summer. Does what season you prefer tell anything about personality? I'm not sure. And I know that in different regions - weather conditions can vary drastically... which may also be the reason for a person choosing one season over the rest. Even if it doesn't really have a baring on personality - it would make a great joke personality quiz - you know? - the type you see on social media a lot. So my guesses for personality per the season would be as follows - at least in a climate similar to Minnesota with it's brutal winters When your favorite season is - Spring : means you are an optimist and get projects done Summer: are fun loving and live in the moment , overly energetic Autumn: Are relaxed and mellow with a medium level of energy Winter: Enjoy staying home, introvert Ha, just my guess. Considering we're neighbors and have the same kind of weather, I would have to agree with your personality analysis. Since I love winter, you show that as an introvert. Fits me to a T. I am a total homebody, loner, prefer the solitude of my own company. My social activities are limited to Writer's Guild once a month, church once a week, and the YWCA every morning except weekends. And going to my son's to do laundry on the weekend. Otherwise, I'm safely cocooned in my apartment with the door locked.

@FayeHazel Absolutely. There is one in particular at Writer's Guild I can't stand to be around. She calls herself an introvert. I don't believe it for a second. She comes off just the opposite and acts like she knows everything about everything writing. My friend knows I can't stand her. As soon as she opens her mouth, I want to leave the room. My friend just gives me a look, and I just keep my mouth shut. By the way, she thinks I like her, so I must have pulled it off okay.

Wow! So I may be on to something. You may also be more introvert than I. I can totally relate with "comfort of your own company" - though I find I need to right balance of people in order to feel happy. Do you find some people are more draining than others?

@just4him Oh she sounds really trying, indeed. I've often wondered why those types seem to need to prove things to others so much so. Good work - you must be doing good and not saying anything to her People eventually usually find out about those types

I think you've done well here..... but I am every one of those things. I like most of the seasons except when they get too extreme.

I live in South West England that tends to be milder than the South East England where I used to live. Yes, where I used to live it snowed in the winter and here is rarely does. I love the spring time and early summer for projects. I am keen on summer for days out to pleasant places. In early autumn I like the days of leaves falling from the trees. However it gets too cold and miserable for me in the late autumn and all through the winter. I went on a 22 day trip to Asia in February 2018 and it was so lovely to have some sunshine away from freezing cold England. Istanbul was reasonably warm and not too wintery. In all the other places it was hot and sunny. I wished to come home feeling spring weather and I had a few weeks to wait. It felt miserably cold when the plane took us from Singapore to London. Yes, arriving there was chilly.

Are you near Devon, or Cornwall? I had ancestors from there way back. :-) Ah a winter with little to no snow sounds lovely. I love how you can see the good about most of the seasons but I entirely do not blame you for not liking winter. It's a hard season to like. Your Asia trip sounds amazing. I always thought Istanbul was in the middle of a dessert - though geography has never been a strong suit.

Based on your descriptions I am a bit of all of them. However, my favourite season is Spring, as in nature everything is coming alive. I dislike winter more and more as I get older. We had an especially harsh one this year and boy was I glad when it was over. I am also trying to live more 'in the moment' as it is meant to be good for your health. Mindfulness is what they call it and I am doing it as often as I can.

I agree with you - in that I love spring and have a distaste for winter. Mindfulness - that is a hard gig - but worthwhile. I try... but it's difficult. I wish you much success on your mindfulness journey

I swear to you that I am an introvert but I don't think I like winter anymore. Can't, because winter has short days, and in the darkness, I still have to do taxiing duties to take my relatives around here and there. I don't like spring and summer too much, because I have to weed and do the lawn, as well as spend the time watering the garden. Guess I don't mind autumn. Whatever, as long as I have enough time to sleep, I would be the happiest person.

Ah. I too am introvert. Though I dislike winter. I just thought if one likes winter there would be a higher still chance of introversion. Sleep is a blessing :-)

Perhaps a combination of personality traits of all 4 seasons... At least for me. But generally like a fortune cookie or horoscope you just might be on to something, lol. P.S.- I enjoy Summer best

I agree with your graphic totally. :-) I love spring myself. Cool! I think I might have a handle on it in , like you say, a general "fortune cookie" sort of way

I do like Spring when everything becomes alive including me. I'm not fond of winter snow and cold weather and tend to stay indoors and hibernate like a bear

Hm, I'm not sure why my previous reply is in grey... but I meant to say, my preferences are the same as yours there :-)

We really don't have seasons here in SoCal. It's just parts are hotter than others.

I think it does. Spring works best for me because it is the time of year I was born. In spring my energy is always up and I do more things outside.
