Diets should be rich in fruits and vegetables

June 8, 2018 9:29pm CST
We can't get away from the fact that they are really good for our body, and that eating a diet rich in fruit and vegetables can lower the risk of and prevent a number of serious illnesses and health problems. We mustn't forget that the majority of fruit and vegetables contain no unhealthy fats or cholesterol and are very low in calories, all of which will help us to maintain a fantastic figure and prevent us from piling on the pounds. Fruit and vegetables are packed full of goodness and often contain a number of essential vitamins and minerals that cannot be found in other types of foods or they may contain higher levels of these nutrients than other foods. What are your views on it?

Sadly we can't say fruits and vegetables are packed with goodness unless it is grown in our own garden. Things are going like that only.

@prakashj256 Yes, I told about the pesticides. The reports are shocking. However, I can't grow any veggie or fruits in my own garden as I live in a concrete jungle. But I love to do that work for sure. I did in my childhood.

I think you are thinking about the pesticides in it. So do you feel its possible for you to grow all fruits or all vegetables in your own area.

@Sreekala that's nice. Today lands don't have much fertility which was earlier. You can grow some veggies like tomatoes, green chilies, brinjal..if you have free space in your terrace, though the quantity will be low but it would be naturally good.

Yep. Micro-nutrients and a good source of soluble fiber. The veggies I like most include bell pepper, Kale, Turnip greens, onion, potato and corn. But I like beets and on the fruit end, just about every fruit I can get hold of, fresh or frozen. Yum Now it's too late to eat anything as it is 12:16 AM already and getting past my bedtime. Hope others read your post and get some healthy enthusiasm about eating a rich diet in plenty of veggies and fruit.

I do love these foods too. They are so tasty and good for us. I cannot get enough of them. But here it is sometimes expensive and I do not want to buy too much to waste it. If I buy nuts I eat them all in one day haha

Nuts are quite expensive here. I only purchase it when there is some offer with it. But other vegetables and some fruits comes at good price. I usually have them in my food.

You are so right. Some are stubborn and will never be vegetable and fruit fans, but that is mainly what we eat and have no complaints!
