Let's discuss glass!

New concept for me today: Glue Chip. " A fern like pattern is on one surface that resembles a window after a visit from Jack Frost. Created by applying hot glue to the sandblasted surface of clear float glass and as it dries, the glue shrinks and cools, removing flakes of glass from the surface." I hope you can see the parts on this stained glass piece that are glue chipped. I plan to bring this piece to the house that we've bought. I'm going to have it installed in a window that is by the house's stair case. Its a bit hard to see but the glue chipped parts are the rectangle pieces toward the frame- makes for a beveled, 2 dimensional, speckle feel to the glass.

I have never hea4d of this. Does it make the glass weaker? Is it hard to do? How interesting.

@HazySue I don't think the glass is weaker. I'm not good at handicrafts- or glass art. I don't know. I'll have to ask a glass artisan some day. I just now understand the pieces that I have a little better.

@HazySue Yes for sure. Glass artfully arranged and that lead stuff- I don't know how to say it, just know that I love the results.

That is stunning, I love it. At one point in my life I thought of learning how to make stained glass but painting won, so I never learned.
