What an awful way to die

I read about this the other day and I can't imagine being attacked by an alligator and being ripped apart by one and dying! That is a good enough reason not to live in a swamp region, like Florida and the South Carolina coast. Anytime I visit a beach, I get this longing to live at a beach. Then I think about alligators and hurricanes and I think how it is good not to live there.
The woman went missing after witnesses saw her walking two dogs at the Silver Lakes Rotary Nature Park in Davie, Florida.

Oh my God, can't imagine being ripped apart. That's horrifying. That made me remember the yahoo news that I read about a small terrier who was finally eaten by the crocodile which she has.been.chasing and taunting for years, now the crocodile finally got revenge.and.ate her up whole. I don't know if you've read or.heard about it. I think tht was 2 or 3 days ago, not so sure.

Well, that is scary. My husband is a big fan of the tv show Swamp People. They are alligator hunters that purchase tickets from the state of New Orleans and then go out and hunt the alligators and then sell them to make money. The show has a spinoff where one of the original alligator hunters travels to other states to find out about other predators. Recently, we watched a show where he was in Florida and the pythons there have killed off all of the small wildlife and are now killing off the gators as well. They showed a fight between a huge python and a gator. They also talked about hunting the pythons because there is an over-population and they have killed off the small wildlife in several areas. I think it would be scary to live near alligators or pythons.

@LeaPea2417 Yes, they were brought over here as part of illegal smuggling of exotic animals/snakes for pets. The area they were showing on the tv show was near a marine animal wildlife facility that took in abandoned pet pythons and other exotic animals etc. The facility was 100% lost during a bad hurricane and all of the animals, snakes escaped. That area of Florida was the perfect breeding ground for pythons and they have multiplied over the years.

Yes, it would be very scary to live near pythons. I am pretty sure I read how pythons have no origins to Florida. They came through being on export boats from places like India and South East Asia. Have you heard that? Am I right about that?

It was terrible to be killed by a crocodile. I will never live on the beach.

I would not want to live where alligators live either.

I dont want to be near them. But every area has its dangers. Here the most dangerous thing is tornadoes. They can just suddenly be there

Alligators are very common in Florida, people should be more than careful going near the water.

@kepweng There have never been alligators in Italy and Switzerland. I have traveled a lot and I have seen alligators in Florida (United States).

The residents there are very brave when they choose to live in that area.
