Palm Springs Weekend

My husband and I just spent the weekend in Indian Wells, which is a suburb of Palm Springs in the California desert. It was a nice, relaxing 106 degrees Fahrenheit outdoors, so we spend most of our time indoors.
We stayed at a beautiful resort, surrounded by mountains, desert, swimming pools, lakes, and a golf course. We were at a conference with a number of people we knew, so it was fun to get together with them.
We will be home now for three days, then leave again for the college graduation of one of our granddaughters. This has been a busy time for us, but I wanted to stop by and say, "Hi"!
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer, so far ... or "winter" for people south of the equator!

@LadyDuck - I'm glad to know you visited Indian Wells. Tennis fans are often familiar with it because there is a world famous tennis complex in Indian Wells and matches are sometimes televised from there. It is beautiful, especially in winter when it is not so hot.

@DeborahDiane We used to go in winter, but not for tennis, we both do not care at all about tennis, but we like golf.

@LadyDuck - There are many beautiful golf courses in Indian Wells, as well as the other nearby towns. In the winter, it is a very lovely place to live.

Sounds very hot and very nice to spend the time indoors. At one time I wanted to visit Palm Springs but never did.

@Hannihar - Palm Springs is OK, but if I were visiting the United States and could only go to a few places, I would not put Palm Springs on the list. There are many, more interesting places.

@Hannihar - How wonderful for you that you are now living in the place which makes you happiest. Yes, I thought you were born there. It sounds like the move to Israel was a good decision for you.

I grew up in the United States and traveled a lot there. I am not going back and do not leave Israel and that was so long ago. I also wanted to visit another place and cannot think of the name. This was when I lived there. Did you think I was born here? No, I have been here over 31 years now.

Yes, it gets terribly hot in the California desert. We usually avoid going there this time of year.

I love the photo the sky is so blue. It makes such a difference to photos! Have a great time at the Graduation. It is such a proud moment to share and acknowledge your granddaughter's achievement. .

I was in Palm Springs a few times, but never made it to Indian Wells. Have a great trip.

I think that must have been really lovely close to Palm Springs with the very hot weather. Good luck with the college graduation of your grand daughter. I am enjoying the summer weather that has now arrived in England. Today I have been busy taking my disabled son to a hospital appointment. However it was lovely to walk along the riverside path to the train station. Our train was delayed and the journey went past pretty green fields.

@JohnRoberts - Ha ha! No, we didn't go to the casinos, but some of our friends did. We stopped at Hadleys for a date shake on the way home, which is next to Morongo Casino. We were tempted to stop in while we were in the neighborhood!
