IHOP is temporarily changing it's name

There was an article some days ago saying that IHOP International House of Pancakes was going to change it's name to IHOB. Online people were guessing what the "B" would stand for. Today an article has come out saying that the "B" will stand for "Burgers". I was surprised. IHOP has been always known for their Pancakes. When I read this article, it explains how the name change is only temporary. They are introducing burgers to their menu and want to emphasize this change for awhile. They want to go from only serving breakfast to serving breakfast and lunch/dinner foods.
What's in a name? After a week of social media speculation, IHOP reveals the b in its new IHOb name stands for burgers. But the restaurant chain's president said the change is temporary -- and pancakes aren't going anywhere.

I knew the name change would be a publicity stunt. Seriously, who goes to IHOP for anything but breakfast anyway?

I agree. That is what makes it unique, serving breakfast.

@LeaPea2417 Here in Jersey, if you want a good breakfast, you go to a diner. IHOP is not a place that locals go to. Tourists, sure, because that is what they are used to but we know where to get the good stuff.

I was wondering why they were changing their name. At least it's temporary. IHOB is horrible name.

I do not think that adding burgers to their menu is a good idea, they are known for breakfast.

They've always served things other than breakfast though. Even burgers.

That is what I started thinking, they want to be like those restaurants.

I saw that in the news. I still associate IHOP with breakfast though.

I heard this last week somewhere. It makes no difference to me. I don't like their breakfasts or pancakes.
