What books are you reading right now?

Over the weekend, I went to the library to find some new books to read. Turned out there wasn't much time to browse because the library was closing soon, so I went to the YA section right away as I love reading YA books. I checked to see if there were any books I haven't read yet by authors I know. I couldn't find any so decided to take a chance on an author unknown to me. I ended up taking out two books by a Chinese-American author Stacey Lee. Outrun the Moon and The Secret of a Heart Note were the titles. I am reading Outrun the Moon right now and am enjoying it so far. When I am done with these two books I will have read 15 books so far this year. My goal is to read at least 50 books by the end of the year. Hopefully, I can get there. What books are you reading right now?

I am reading a Danish book called "Elleve dage i november" (Eleven days in November). It is a story about a woman who is addicted to painkillers and other kinds of medication. She ends up in hospital, but she survives. The author's name is Charlotte Strandgaard.

@lovebuglena I am not sure, but I don't think she is famous outside Denmark. She has written more than 30 books since the 60's and I like her books.

@Marty1 See if it is available in print. You'd probably not have to wait that long to read it.

I read mainly English books to keep my English fresh, but at the moment I'm reading a German book for a change. It wouldn't make sense to mention it here.

@lovebuglena I've been reading English books since1964 when I started studying English lit at university. I've read tons of English books. Impossible to write down all the authors here. At the moment, I have no favourite authors.

Nice. I am sure you can make it. I love reading as well. Currently reading two memoirs at once. One is a 911: Life in the HotSeat memoir which I have not been able to put down.

I haven't picked a book back up in about a week. I've debated finishing the book I am reading by Ian Rob Wright 'Final Winter" and then picking up an old book I haven't read in awhile. I'll link you to what I am thinking of reading again. It's a good book.
Reminiscent of Year of Wonders, a captivating debut novel of fireworks, fortune, and a young woman's redemption It is 1752 and seventeen...

I'm reading 3 e-arcs and a couple of books from my TBR list. That's a good goal. I'm still aiming for 100 +, since I've hit 50 books last month. I'm reading Mary Higgins Clark's The Melody Lingers On and a few other titles.

Wow! That's impressive. If you already hit 50 you should definitely be able to hit 100 books by the end of the year.

That's a lot of books to read in one year. Other than working on books, I'm not really reading any at the moment.

@lovebuglena I've never had that kind of free time. I love reading. I did a lot of reading as a kid, but even then, I didn't read 50 books a year. I did good reading the required number for book reports in school. I'm sure in my lifetime, I've read many hundreds of books, but not continuously. Reading is why I love writing.

Fifty books is not that high a number. But one has to have lots of free time to devote to reading... and have the desire to read as well.
