I did a mystery shop today at a local grocery store very simple. I had to take picture of chip bags and the expiry date.
Only took me a whil3 to find the aisle. But I kept noticing workers walking by watching.
Ok I get most average customer doesn't take a picture of 20 bags of chips or the expiry date.
I had one come up and accuse me of stealing. I was purchasing items while doing this shop (not the chips) but nuts and chocolate mixes.
I have 6 more shops tomorrow. My friend did one and was accused of stealing because she was taking picture in an electronic store

That’s not nice to make an assumption of stealing. There isn’t a no picture sign that you can’t take pictures.
I don’t do mystery shopping but I sometimes takes pictures to ask my fiancé or sister whomever if they want the item too if they’re not with me. Or snap a photo for future use to buy or something!

That's what I had said! We arnt suppose to say we are a mystery shopper. So I had said I was taking pictures for a friend asking which kind she meant.

@ricki_911 Yeah that's rude of them. If you were stealing why would you take pictures - dumb. :P Will you write in your feedback they were rude instead of asking you if you needed help they accused you of stealing?

@infatuatedbby Yes, I contacted the district manager about it but also in the report for the store as well.
It was unacceptable.

that's crazy.i can see them flipping over pictures,but i don't see the connection to stealing..
