Rice dumplings are also fondly known as "Bak Chang" or " Zhong ZI" among Chinese families. These rice dumplings are in a shape of triangles alike the pyramid, wrapped up with bamboo leaves and tied with strings. The fillings are unique, rice dumplings, pork bellies, assorted nuts, salted egg and sometimes red beans. Rice dumplings are made or sold during the celebration of the Dragon Boat festival, which is on 16th June every year. Every year, my neighbor gives us 6 rice dumplings instead of my mother in law. My MIL gives the dumplings to her OWN adult children. You know what? My son said that our neighbor is much much better than his own granny. That is true.

You really have a good neighbor Your neighbor may be a Chinese as this kind of food is popular for the Dragon Boat Festival. This year the Dragon Boat Festival is on June 18 and I am glad that we have an official day off work

We have a lot of dumpling variations but strangely rice dumplings is unknown to us even if rice is our staple food and we are neighbors.
