Funny and Little Quirks

Do you have an odd habit that you find amusing or really unique? Personally I don’t think I have any, although I consider myself already weird, but I have a friend whose habit I find to be really unique and funny. You see, she cannot sleep without “kulambo” (mosquito net) covering her feet! It does not matter that they live now in a sealed and air conditioned room where mosquitoes are rarely able to enter, she has to have that net to have a good night’s sleep. Another friend whose quirk I find a little concerning is her penchant for hair dryers - she has to have hair dryer blowing onto her especially her legs or feet or else she cannot sleep. I think it’s dangerous if she fell asleep with the hair dryer still going. What about you?

That is quite weird, that she must have a hair dryer on her feet to sleep. Can she not put socks on and bundle under several blankets? I suppose i wouldn't call mine a quirk, but rather a routine. I did this until about two weeks ago when my lamp broke and is in need of repair. I used to turn off my lamp and then plug in christmas lights so that I could see. Then I would turn on my two fans and go to brush my teeth and get ready for bed. Once I was ready for bed I would turn the Christmas Lights off and get settled into the bed. The Christmas lights are just two strings of lights put together.

I have seen some Pinterest images on bedroom setups or decor with christmas lights. It serve as both a decor and a source of light. I think that is a good idea, although yours stemmed out of necessity than design, I can imagine it can really work both ways.

@Raine38 Oh I have seen some pinterest images as well of cute little lighting setups. There are a few I would love to do. There's one where people hang a string of lights and put photographs on them clipped with tiny clothespins. That is the cutest. I think, in lieu of a lamp. I will buy a few letters with bulbs in them and have them for lighting. I am not sure if they are battery operated or need a plug though.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That would be quite a design. I think you can make it work. I don't know if you can sleep with a dim light on, even just a night light - I know I can but husband to be needs total darkness to sleep. So even if I want to put even just fairy lights, it will not be advisable for us.

Hi Raine. I just need my pillows to make me go to sleep. I tend to have that habit of “namamahay”.

So do I! It always takes a while for me to get used to sleeping in a new place.

@Raine38 Exactly. I think my body always longs for my bed.

I don't think I have anything different like that but we are all unique and special. =)

I brush my hair at least with one stroke when I go to the bathroom at night. The brush lies on the window sill of the bathroom and before I go back to bed, I use it.

I heard of something similar - a neighbor's young daughter will have problem sleeping unless her mom brushes her hair. I guess it soothes her.

that's definitely not safe, I don't think. And it is a bit weird too.. I think we all have weird things we do, even if we cant think of them or don't think they're weird.
