Hi All, I have been working for almost 15 years... changed jobs few times, but always found job within 1 or 2 months time. Beginning of the year, I thought of taking a break for some time and look for something new. Now it's almost 6 months, and I'am still jobless and wondering what just happened...all my self-confidence is fading away and knowledge seems useless. This is the longest period of being unemployed and I am fearing for worse days ahead...I am feeling all time low, even though exteriorily I put up confident face... please let me know how to remain positive before I break down..

I was made redundant in the 1990s. I found it hard to afford to live in my little cottage. I decided to let out my cottage and go off on a trip. Then I was able to find casual jobs in Australia. I suggest you look at doing a free course on-line in a skill that you are keen on to raise your self esteem. Look at the Internet to find a new job. Good luck.

Perhaps you can try to find it via the net. Today it seems more companies have job recruitment online. Or you can ask whether some of your friends will be able to help you. As they know you well and it is easier for them to recommend you if there is a job recruitment. Today the boss wants to hire trustworthy employees.

Maybe it would be a good idea to mention what your qualification is and what kind of jobs you had.

Go on with your day and put in applications. Or enjoy your time off.
