Raining, Flooding

Hello everyone.
I wake up early today to prepare for the day. The rain last night poured heavily in our place and more so in other areas. Expectation wise, there will be floods and worst scenario there will be suspension of classes.
And I am right, at 5:00am I turned on the TV to watch news and one by one the city mayors announcement came. No classes today due to flooding (in some areas), heavy continuous rains.
It is a good thing announcement came early. I would not prepare my son's lunch and snacks.
Have a good safe morning/afternoon/evening to all.

what part in the capital city do you live? i hope the flood id not due to the overflow of garbage from those 'esteros' but due to... just over-pouring of rain water.

@ridingbet not so brightly here but an hour or so ago, there is a glimpse of sun you can see but now as I type this (11:55 to be exact), the sky is again dark with rolls of thunder.

@rakski then i presume the floods are gone now because the sun is shining brightly, but here to my end. is the sun out there now?

Glad it seems a clearer day right now here. There's a lot of suspension of classes that I've read, Oh, maybe the proposition to move classes during non-rainy day season are good for the sake of education.

@rakski Nonetheless, it will cover two non-rainy days month. I know summer is a great vacation but what if we'll sacrifice vacation in the name of education.

@simplfred I was hoping they move the class in August just what they said before but it seems not all do that.

Here, it´s raining too. Sometimes light rain and others heavy showers. The last one occurred three days ago, while in the country side

I'm glad that flood isn't happening in our place, that would be trouble some and annoying getting rid of water.

Raining and flooding can be bad. I am glad they called school off for your son.
