is it necessary to delete mails daily after reading?

Is it necessary to delete mails after reading on a daily basis. I am a regular checker of emails in gmail account and have been deleting read mails then and there. My inner conscious, however say that it is not necessary and hence let me know if you do this or think unwise of deleting on a daily basis even though it is not important mail for us keeping for a long time Particularly inbox mails I mean

The mails which I found useless by looking at its subjects I delete immediately.

I delete those mails that are not important and only keep the important e-mails.

If you do want to keep your email, I think there is an option to order them under tags.

You can sort them out.keep the important ones and delete the rest
