The way I see it, myLot members improve social skills here they can use in their daily life outside the internet.

I have come to realize that my actual social skill set has improved since I started writing and socializing online. I began writing first as a volunteer for Yahoo! Answers and after over a year of answering people's important questions, I learned to do even more by joining Yahoo! Contributor Network & Yahoo! Voices, but then that was only temporary as Yahoo! discontinued Voices and Contributor Network and offered a social media site called Tumblr. I began to write there and it was fun but I gained more satisfaction from Bubblews and while it lasted I learned that writing was only second in gaining personal satisfaction to the social interaction and making friends aspect.
When I wrote there I also wrote at Persona Paper and here at myLot. They both made my life more fun and I also joined a few other sites but I always came back to myLot because myLot has outlasted all those other sites, with only a few exceptions, such as Hub Pages and some others I forgot the names of.
Being on social media and writing sites motivated me to try writing short stories and I found other writers who were either writing their own blogs, or writing E-books and some were even writing novels for publication. So I took what I learned from myLot, and former writing sites and became more outgoing in the world outside the internet. I am more self confident. This is in fact, working better for me than Therapy. I found that some members had no other outlet to communicate with people in the world outside their confined home environments either due to illness, age or other issues that made it very difficult to get out and about in the world outside.
So, in fact, I gained more insight on the experiment of social media and came to the conclusion that this form of connecting actually can improve our lives, not only by taking us outside our little boxes, but enabling us to be part of something bigger than ourselves and enjoy the bigger picture that social media life gives everyone.

Hi Anthony. I like how you put that together. Mylot is a contributing factor for us to be sociable with others and allows us to more open and find ourselves knowing more about ourselves.
