Retraction for TopHatter

I recently mentioned an online auction site called TopHatter. It seemed like a fun site where you have a live auction in real time. It has a variety of items and you have just a couple of minutes to bid on something. I won the auction for an electric razor and it's a piece of junk. I got it for $14 which should have told me something. Their genius is that you don't have time to read the description and realize it really isn't worth whatever you get it for. It's the physiological ploy of "Oh no! If I don't bid on it right this instant, I won't get it!" They say that you can return the item, but the process seems to be more trouble than it's worth. Two thoughts come to mind: If it seems too good to be true, it probably isn't. And you get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

I'm sorry you got a razor, that isn't worth $14! My money was hung up on the Internet, for three months. All to get a nice buy on a pair of summer boots:( The finally did refund mymoney, after I threatened to call the police

Was that at TopHatter? I completely uninstalled the app on my phone. Glad you finally got your refund.

@1creekgirl Nope, it was JustFashionNow.com and I will never purchase from them, ever again.

I have always wondered about these auction sites, I agree when it seems too good to be true it usually is. At least it isn't too painful of a lesson.

The funny thing is I just received the second item I bought and it might be ok after all. It's a selfie stick that works good, so far. But I won't use that site again. Too easy to get pressured to hurry and buy before you have time to think it through.
