You Worked Very Hard To Get Where You Are. Do You Ever Feel The Need To Downplay Your Success In Fear Of What People Might Say?

You gave up a lot for the lifestyle you have obtained. Late nights studying for exams in order to make the grade. No sleep so you can nail that account in order to get that promotion. Meeting with clients while you rather be home with your spouse and kids. Having relationships go by the wayside because of your career. Sacrificing having a life in order to be successful. One day you look up and all the sacrifice and hard work have paid off. You have arrived. You can afford nice things now. Your living Lavita -Loca. No more sandwiches. Now your eating steak. You have the house the car and all the trimmings that go with success. Then one day you realized that everybody is not okay with your success. They are not saying it to your, face but you can feel it all around you. You think, Do I need to downplay my success because everybody can't handle it. Then you say to yourself, they didn't work for this I did. How dare they hate on me. I try to share my success with family and friends and still the hate. Do I need to downplay my success just to get along? REALLY!!

You worked hard for it, be proud of it! I think there is a huge difference between being proud of hard work and accomplishments and bragging just to make others envious. One can always sense the undertone, but for someone who cannot be happy for you anything you will say will always be construed as negatively as possible. It is true that not everyone will be happy for you, heck they will even want you to suffer as they are, or fail as they did because misery loves company. I worked hard for a promotion, I spent many sleepless nights studying and missed parties so I can finish my master's. So when they ask me how I have been, I always speak highly about my accomplishments - these are all true anyway! If the people around you cannot be happy for your success, then that's their problem.

I will simply just ignore them. As long as I am not stepping on anyone then I will do what pleases me.

Pretty much everyone in this country looks down on my job as politicians have demonized us. I don't need to downplay anything. My salary is crap and the public hates me because I have good benefits and a pension. (Don't get me started on the whole "paid summers off" garbage)

No!! If U R not showing off and R humble that is their problem!! Stay away from them!!! I am not that successful, bit I received a break in life!!! I try 2 downplay it a little!! I want 2 B humble and don't discuss it that much!! When people see it they don't know what 2 say and u can see the dangerous reaction!! That is why I didn't let everyone in my house!!! At that point U have 2 be careful who u let around u!!!!! By the way your picture is flawless!!! U ought 2 get into modeling!!! R U a model!!!?? U could B a legend!!!
