How Did You Meet Your Significant Other?

For those who are in a relationship, how did you meet your partner / significant other? I met my husband to be in a Christmas party for our town's Filipino-American community. Back then, we were both in a relationship with other people so there was nothing out of the ordinary on that meeting. Then my relationship ended, moved to a different state to get away from it all, then moved back when my ex followed me (thank goodness he did not follow me back). When I moved back here, I started to focus on my career and at that time his relationship has also ended. We met again while playing golf (well, he was playing, and I was hacking the grass), decided to play together and then he asked me out. I became the target of his crazy ex (the kind of crazy that made him change locks and avoid being with her with no other individual present). But after three years, we're still together and have decided that we are good for each other. Our story is not a unique one, but it is full of challenges and triumphs, lots of lessons learned and I am very happy.

@mlgen1037 that is very interesting! I hope you don't mind sharing your story with me (even a private message will do - I am a sucker for romantic stories in real life). At least you two have similar interests from the get go.

And that is fine! Sometimes it takes time to find the right person for us - rushing into it usually does not produce desired results.

We lived in the same building, but we've never met. There is a small grocery at the building and the seller figured out that we would be a good couple. Once we went to the grocery at the same time and the seller introduced us. We started dating in a week. It happened 7 years ago. The seller is still very proud of herself as she arranged our relationship.

Oh wow, the seller have a good matchmaking skill! I can see that she is really happy that she managed to put two people together. I wonder if she tried it again on others?

@Raine38 Yes, we are not the first couple that she matched. She told me once about the other couple and they've already have a baby.
