Prayers and Gifts on Fathers' Day I Received

First words I heard yesterday morning was a chorus of greeting saying Happy Fathers Day! Then, I went to attend a special Holy mass,which was offered for fathers in our parish community. There were special prayers for fathers and the homily was on the suitable theme of parents and children. In the evening, foster children of the home put up a program of songs, dances, poem recitations, story telling etc.They gave us foster fathers a gift each. Isn't it a joy when your children appreciate you?

I am really confused what Exactly the Father's Day means? Is it celebrating fatherhood and paternal bonds and influence of fathers in the Society or a religious thing where the priests who are known as fathers in Churches are honored? Thanks!
