I was wondering, do you guys pick up coins that you see on the street? Until recently I wasn't paying attention to lost change, but now I'm picking it up for fun. And it's amazing where you can find coins . Started this 2 months ago, I keep the coins in a big jar. I'm curious how many I will find by the end of the year. So, anyone else?

I always pick them so that the currecncy made by country should be in circulation, for which it is meant! Thanks!

That's true also. When I pay for any kind of stuff, I'm asked for change quite often. So, after I get like 30 or more coins, I take them with me and I change them for bills at my local store. They always seem happy to do it.

Not usually. If it's a penny, I make sure it's heads up and then leave it there.

@Kasjnak Will it add up to something you can spend?

@TheHorse I don't know, guess it depends on how much I want to spend. Definitely, I'm not gonna get rich . But as I was saying, I do it for fun. If it adds up, I'll buy something for my wife. I usually have a secret fund and when it gets big I buy her gifts. Don't think lost change will do the trick, though . Ok, long story short, if it adds up, I will let you know what I will buy with it .

Well, I decided to pick up every coin I see and it's within my reach . But I do have some rules that I stick to. Anyway, one more month and I'll take a picture of my coins. I live in a small town from a small country so the value is low. But it's fun and I enjoy it

The Philippine. 25,. 10 and. 05 centavos have very low values so people ignore them, I collect them and use them to pay the centavo portions of my bills instead of using my whole 1 peso coins

Yep, that's what I'll do too eventually. For now it's all about the fun side. I don't even know how much I have or how many coins. On average I think I find 3 or 4 coins a day. Good luck, I hope you find many, many coins!

Actually, that's a great ideea . I don't know about bad luck, I always believed I'm "building" my own luck . But I think it's nice to save them and find a way to help someone with all those coins.

@DianneN I do too, he he . If things go wrong, people usually blame others or destiny, but if they do this, they're stuck, they can't go forward. That's why I build my own luck, maybe I succeed, maybe I don't, but in the end I'll have a smile on my face .

@SRSaba that's quite hot. I don't like temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, but at one time we reached 42 and it was awful. Good luck, maybe you'll get some rain (I sent it to you, but who knows if it listens to me )

Yep. Usually, when I pick up a coin I show it to my 2 year old son and I say: Look! A lucky penny! Who knows, maybe one of them is indeed the lucky one!

Nice. As I was saying, I've started this 2 months ago. What about you? And where do you find lost change? I usually find it when I walk in a parking lot, near the counters or if I walk in the park. And of course, on the sidewalk.

Hehe, it's really fun. I used to walk by and leave it there, when coins fell from my pocket I never picked them up. But someone was talking about it one time and I thought it would be fun. And it is

I always pick up change or bills I see on the ground. It will be interesting to find out how much you picked up in a year's time.

Yup! Here it has just a small value, the most valuable coin is 50 BANI (~12,5 US cents) and they are hard to find. But I usually find 3 or 4 coins/day of smaller values. Today I've got a 50 BANI coin and a 5 BANI. Just by casual walking. I think that I could find lots more if I was indeed searching for them . Anyway, at this rate I could probably get around 20$/year. Not much, but it's something that I do for fun

Well, it' harder these days because of online paying, credit cards and so on. But it's still there . Millions and millions of dollars and other currencies of course. And it seems my eyes are trained now, I can spot coins from a distance . Trust me, they are put there
