When you get into those late 50s you stop paying attention to “youth” things. I suppose that is why I’m shaking my head in absolute disbelief here. Earlier this evening I saw a note that some rapper was shot and killed in Miami. Okay, that’s not news (which is sad in itself). What is news — and quite disturbing to me — is that there was someone shooting cell phone video of this guy as he lay dying in his car. Worse, it was on the news (a local Miami TV station) and on a celebrity gossip website as soon as it was confirmed that the rapper was dead. What. The. Firetruck!!!!! People????? I realize we’re long past the days of expecting assistance from bystanders (the old “I don’t want to get involved” thing), but is the antithesis of that “I don’t wanna get involved but I do wanna sell my video to CNN”? Sheesh. Sing it, Don:

There should be a law against that. And a fine to whoever buys the monstruos video.

Teenagers video fights in high schools all the time and then post it to social media, text it, etc. The press took pictures of dying Princess Diana 20 years ago. Humans are a-holes.

Humans are good. I don’t know if someone who would do something like this (or Princess Di, or go to court to get Dale Earnhardt’s autopsy photos so they could post them online) qualifies as “human,” though.

@FourWalls I don't know. With the current child separation situation, I'm not really believing that humans are good, but I see your point.

Glad I didn't see that video, I'm sure I would feel the same as you.

That is an example of a sickness in society triggered by tech.

I can't believe that anyone could be so cold and uncaring:( All to sell a stupid video? That's heartless!

It's because people want their video to go viral and then they will be known for filming the dying rapper. We don't use phones to call 911 just catch the episode on video and sell it to the highest bidder.
