Coffee On The Road

I don't know about you. But I have to have my coffee. And of course for work I travel a lot so I spend a lot of time in hotels. Typically I might get one single cup coffee pack, sometimes two. But I am not satisfied with just one cup of coffee. So, I generally bring my own coffee, but I DO still use the hotel single cup packets. But I try to save them so that between the coffee I bring and the coffee the hotel provides I can essentially have as much coffee as I want. Sometimes that's like 4 or 5 cups. When I make my own coffee I keep it real simple. I put two small scoops of grounds into a filter I bring, fold it up into a "single pod," and brew. When you travel do you have to have your coffee? Does the hotel ever provide enough coffee? Granted, I am a diamond member of Wyndham so if I go downstairs and ask for more coffee they will just give it to me. But I don't always like the hassle. I have yet to run out of coffee in a hotel room.

Isn't that why they have room service. You could just call downstairs and they'll bring it to you.

That is what I was thinking. Just call down to the desk and they should have someone who can bring you more coffee or ask the housekeepers in the morning.

Yes, you can call down to the front desk for more coffee, towels or whatever you may need.

Wyndham is not top of the line. It's Super 8, Amercinn, La Quinta... room service is you have a bed.

We generally give two regulars and one decaf, but if the person wants more I am happy to obliged. I notice some of our long term guests bring their own single serve Keurigs or coffee pots.

Most of the time I see two packets in the rooms. One regular and one decaf, but the Americinn's usually do have it your way. I have thought about the K-Cup thing a time or two myself, but it's just so damn expensive.

I like coffee. But coffee is not as common as tea here.

I have never been able to get into tea. Actually I do not like tea at all. But give me my coffee, black? I am a happy camper all day long.

Oh man. That's just wrong. In the United States free coffee is part of your stay.

I like to have one cup of coffee a day. I don't usually drink more than that. When I am at a hotel, I usually just go down to the free breakfast and get coffee but only if they have the flavored creamers. I would be way too jittery with 4 or 5 cups of coffee.

I never want to leave my hotel room until I am ready to leave the hotel, so going down to the lobby for coffee would not work well for me. Especially considering I am not a one cup coffee drinker and I'd have to make several trips.

Two cups is never enough for me. I can easily drink a half a pot all by myself.

@porwest My late X was the same way. He drank three pots a day. The pot was never turned off.

@just4him Holy smokes. Three pots a day? Is that why he is not around anymore? I bet he got a lot done.

The only hotels I have ever seen that don't ever have pots in the room are in Vegas. I wonder if they do it this way in Atlantic City as well. Not sure since I have never been there.
