Awake at 5 am This Morning

I will be so glad when the days begin to get shorter so that the sun doesn't come up quite so early. We have done everything to darken our windows that we can think of and the minute the clock strikes 5 am, we are wide awake. I have been listening to this documentary about "time" and how each of us has an internal clock that works really well. Not quite sure about mine. Maybe waking up early has something to do with aging? Not sure but if that is the case, my father-in-law doesn't know about it. You have to wait until after lunch to call just to be sure that he will be up! Ah, what a way to enjoy retirement. On the other hand, you do tend to get a lot accomplished when your day starts at 5 in the morning. I was also surprised to hear so many cars on the road that early in the morning!! As for me, I'm been yawning a lot the past half hour. I think that a nap is definitely in the works for today. Haven't heard a peep from the real estate office, so it doesn't look as if I have to worry on that account either. I have a lot crossed off my to-do list... it just might turn out to be a lazy day! What are your plans??

I don't get up until 8ish every morning but I do hear cars leaving for work between 5am to 6am. I don't think I could function getting up at 5am

I certainly don't care for getting up that early. 8ish... doesn't sound that bad in comparison!

I hope that you can get a nap later on. I did not have a good night sleep and will need to rest soon. I hate that.

I like a lazy day. I am looking forward to retirement. But I'm fine, too. We're having a summer vacation now. So it is a lazy day for me, too.

Well, never did make that nap... so tonight I'm going to do my best to stay up until 11 instead of ten. Maybe that will help me to sleep in!

I'm used to get up at that time. My eldest is an early bird and I've kind of been as well. Hopefully things change for you.

@Hate2Iron It does make for a long day for sure. But you have to wake up when it best for you.

I would get sooo much accomplished if I got up this early every day but it makes for a very long day!

Where we are right now the curtain keeps it very dark in here so I am sleeping later than I want to! Usually now I get up at 9am instead of 8am like I used to. Oh well, grateful to God that I do wake up!

I do love getting up early! But our room darkening curtains work quite well and were inexpensive at Bed Bath and Beyond.

If they weren't simply going to be something we would have to give away, I wouldn't mind opting for more expensive window coverings. When we didn't realize that we were going to move, we put in new counter tops and carpet. We will be lucky (in this market) just to break even! :(
