Do you read long posts until the end?

I admit, that If I'm not touched by the very first line, and it's a long post I won't read it until the end. I like clear and short ideas to be deliver. Is it the same for you? or you can read long posts with no problems?

Sometimes yes, but when I feel lazy it's a no.

I don't read long posts that describe every detail of someone's day or problems. If the first paragraph puts me to sleep they may not even get a like.

I'm sorry but these posts with very long details are annoying to me...

One thing I do not have is patience and so I skip them even if they are from those I normally interact with.

@saritflor And I always post short discussion because I also don't want to bore my readers.

It really depends, but most of the time I do, if I don't have anything to say on the topic I will like it so you will know that I read it.

I used to be an editor back in the day, and when you had tons of submissions to read to publish, one rule I followed was that if you did not catch my attention in the first paragraph, it went into the rejection pile no matter how good the story might have been had I read it through. On a site like this I tend to view things a bit different. Most posts here are not long at all. Not even a full page. That being said, the post still has to interest me if it is going to be longer than a few paragraphs for me to read it to the end. THAT being said, if I do not read the post I will not comment. I think that is just a courtesy to the writer not to try and fake it just to earn some brownie points or a few more cents.

I only read the long posts that are into paragraphs and comprehensible. Sometimes they are too much of a torture to read.

The important thing with long posts are if they can teach us something new, so then I might read it until the end.

I will read a long post if it is interesting. I try not to write long ones because internet attention span is short. The first thing I learned about when I started writing online is to provide eye candy. For real articles, it is short paragraphs broken up with bullet points, illustrations, charts, or whatever. For talk groups like this one, I use short paragraphs and break them up with plenty of white space. When I was at Helium, we had to rate other people's work. Some articles went on in one paragraph of hundreds of words with no punctuation or capitalization. It was horrible on the eyes. I always gave them a poor rating. I learned the value of eye candy.

If I can't read it to end I hit back... And wander off to something more engaging. I don't mind long posts. I just want content that shares emotions, actual thoughts, something!
