I can feel them (I wrote this on another site)

I can feel them moving around me. The air barely changes, no sound permeates the silence. I can feel them though, as sure as I can feel my chest rise and fall. They are there, scurrying around me, as if I wasn't there. My lips curl in a smile at that thought. My eyes are still closed, I know there is no need to open them. I never see anything when I do. Just the blackness that surrounds me, only a dull light at the corners of my visage. I quiet my mind and listen. Not to any sounds, there still aren't any to be heard. I slip into a trance state, my mind focusing on the nothing that surrounds me. When I open my eyes, my surroundings have changed. Where there was once utter darkness, there is now light. The window to my left filters in sun through the drapes. The window has been opened, letting in a slight breeze. My skin feels clammy and hot. My lids feel heavy with the effort to keep them open. I am aware of the movements around me, but I can't focus on any one thing. I can hear humming though, a gentle sound meant to comfort me. Someone strokes my hair. I am aware of murmurings around me, softly spoken words that I'm not meant to hear. My eyes fall closed again, but I don't sleep. My body feels too enflamed for that. "It won't be long." I open my eyes to darkness again. My mind still playing over the last words I heard before I lost my focus. I move my limbs, they've grown stiff from lying in one place for too long. I stretch my arms above my head, turning to the side as I do. 3:30 A.M. I was away longer this time. The first few times I tried that, I was only able to focus for a few minutes before I lost my concentration. I hope I will eventually find out what happened here. The movements around me have stopped. I can't feel them anymore. I close my eyes and find sleep. I wrote this on reddit several months ago. I like it but I feel as if the end is a little jolting. Not quite.. it doesn't quite flow as well as the rest of the story. What do you guys think of it?

That was deep. Darkness creeps over and filling your surroundings.

What did you think it was about? I am interested in everyone's interpretations. I'll let you know what I meant it to mean.

@mlgen1037 It was about a person (In this case, I visualized it as a man) laying in a bed and either dreaming or meditating and finding himself in the same house, in the same bed, but in a different time period.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I thought it was about you having those days when you are down and you feel alone as if the world has left you on your own.

Your story is eerie and.creepy. I didn't really understand what was happening. Was the subject sleeping and dreaming, having an out of body experience or meditating.

I visualized it as a man who was lying in bed and either dreaming or meditating. He ended up in either a past life or in the past itself. The murmurings he couldn't hear were of the people attending to him in his sick bed. "It won't be long" infers that either the fever will break or he will die.

@RubyHawk I wrote it with no intention of really expanding upon it. I liked the mystery of it. The character just came to me out of nowhere.

Sorry I haven't read this yet, so busy. But aren't they shutting this kind of post? They always shut mine.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I mean re-posting something from another sites seems against the rule here because they always block my post if they are already posted in another site.

@simplfred I wrote this creatively. I didn't get paid for it on the other site. I've never had my discussion deleted because of writing creatively here. I don't know about whether this will be deleted because I cross posted it. Since I wrote it, and since I didn't get paid for it? I doubt it.

Some creepy imagery you have here. I hope there's a part 2.

I hadn't intended for there to be a part two but I may have to think one up.
