Two days ago, I had a funny-half serious talk with my mother. I indirectly opened up my sentiments about her not letting me go out. I was asking for her permission because I am invited to my classmates' debut party. And as usual she said no I asked her in a funny tone, why she still don't let me attend, she said, the party will be late, it's dangerous outside. I said, I could stay at my friends house near the event place and she just ignored me and stay silent after that, I understand that she is just thinking about my safety because of what's happening in our surroundings.

Hi Chic. Mothers know best. Sometimes we do not understand but they have their reasons.

You'll understand her when you become a parent yourself. Your mother might be worried you'd be mistaken as a "tambay" and be arrested. And you did a good job obeying her.

@chicnthin That was a debut party of your classmate and I understand how much you would like to go. But mothers - well, they're mothers who know best and your mom is one of them. Cheers!

I get it somehow. It's just I have a feeling that I'm missing out my youth. But I'll still obey them.

I didn't understand that before when I was younger. But now that I'm a mother, I'm more strict when my kids asking for my permission to go out and play. Mothers worry too much and it's better to be overprotective than sorry.

@cherriefic it's just that I feel like I wont be able to enjoy life and learn new things because I'm always stuck in my room.

mothers have that intuition and instinct to care for their kids. i hope you won't take it against your mother if she refuses you to go out or attend a party.

When I was a bit younger my feelings used to revolts with my parents. When I was old I've understood everything why my parents were so strict.
