Do you ever buy yourself jewelry? The Horse goes on a spending spree!

For some reason, I've been in spending mode recently. I'm not usually that extravagant, but the last couple of weeks have been different. While up at the Grass Valley Father's Day Bluegrass Festival, I bought myself a new friendship ring. I bought it to celebrate my friendships with the littlies I worked with this year in Berkeley. I bought if from an "old" Vietnam Vet guy who got into metal-working somewhere along the way. My old ring mysteriously disappeared a few months ago, and I decided it was time. I think this one is made of copper and brass, so it's not quite as shiny as my usual silver, but I still think it's pretty cool. It was expensive--$15.00--but I'm worth it. Do you ever go an a jewelry spree, or other spending sprees?

I want to buy one, a gold necklace with a cross pendant, but it's too expensive for me.

They are available at lower carats. You can opt for 9 K gold...instead of 22K.

I bought a bracelet the last time I was at a festival, the time before that was for my birthday. I'm not much for wearing jewelry. I do necklaces more than anything else. I do like handmade jewelry move the stuff you can buy at the mall.

Me too. It has more "soul." This is the only jewelry I wear right now.

What kinds of things? In real life, I don't buy that many "things." I tend to tuck my money away for that next guitar or bass that I just "have" to have.

@TheHorse .....Several sets of sheets, some shams and pillows. Got a new bed. The material the one pair of sheet is made out of is so soft. Microfiber.

I usually do. I don't like spending money, but when I do... I tend to borrow my mother's jewelry but I sometimes buy some myself, usually spending less than €10 a piece. I mean, I'm going to break or lose it anyway.

Not in a long while but I usually go for gold or silver so my finger, ears or neck won`t turn green from the other metals.

@TheHorse LOL, I reckon. I used to get green fingers from cheap jewelry. Coat the inside with clear nail polish, that is what we did as kids.,

I confess that I bought a gorgeous ring for myself during my vacations. The burglars who came to my house last year left me with no jewelry at all. They even too some beautiful jewel box my mother gave me when I was a child. So, I deserved it

@TheHorse Everyone of us deserve to have something beautiful, as I see it. The burglars took away all I had so I bought me a ring. And last year, after they came, I bought a couple of Colombian earrings, imitations of Precolombine earrings.

For that you would get sterling silver with gold plating and one of the less expensive gems. We are Indians. We believe in looking over decked and uneducated when we go for functions. LOL. Do I like jewelry? Nope. What I like is actually Not expensive...but I can have matching stuff with everything I wear. But I wear two gold bangles, one thin gold chain with gold locket and one pair of danglers EVERYDAY..because everybody wears that...and even so, dad is constantly saying ..you should buy more bangles and have better chain. I have 2 gold chains, 2 necklace sets..and another 3 bangles. My cousins are all into diamonds and even more richer stuff. I reckon I can use these things to clear some indebtedness and I can also use these in case I have some emergencies.

@TheHorse Yes, the diamond ring who bought my father when I was 19. He bought the ring for me, because my brother asked to have a car for his 18th birthday. Of course I will never sell my marriage ring.

Well, I do it for my wife, but we usually buy jewelery together. She trusts my judgement and so far she was pleased with what I buy. Other than that, I rarely go on a shopping spree. But when gold is involved I buy it whenever I can
