Wouldn't It Be More Honest if MyLot Called the Money They Give Us 'Winnings' Instead of 'Earnings'?

Because we don't get the money so-much "for the writing we submit" as "for the activities of other members." (The "Earnings Program FAQ" says http://www.mylot.com/mylot/earnings "the more that other myLot users interact with what you post, the more money it will make. If no one reads what you wrote, interacts with it, or otherwise considers it interesting, then you likely won't earn anything." (emphasis added)) Oh, there's "good reason" to call it 'earning': the more posts you write, the more writing you have on MyLot for others to interact-with (and thus more chances for more money) ... makes me wonder why they don't call it 'earning the lottery' (I mean; the more lottery-tickets you buy, the more chances you have for money ... right?)

I think you have a good point there, it's not like other sites where you get paid per word so yeah it should be called winnings..

I didn't know MyLot calling to it "winnings", I think this site is very honest with its members and I enjoy hanging here around.

English is tricky. I said 'if they called it "winnings" instead of "earnings."' They don't call it 'winnings.' They do call it 'earnings,' and people commonly join thinking they'll "get paid quid pro quo for the amount of work they do" ... making some people think this is a "scam" MyLot IS NOT a "scam." They never "claim" the earnings are going to be 'Quid pro Quo (Do this much writing for that much money).' That's how I defend it at sites like SiteJabber - maybe you can help.
6 reviews for myLot, 4.2 stars: 'I have been a member of myLot for almost two years. If you want to have a good time, make great friends from around the world and earn a bit of cash while doing that, then myLot is the real deal! You won't get rich on

I understand what you're saying, but ultimately I think it doesn't really matter what they call it. I'm just happy to earn/win/whatever some extra cash. :)

Maybe my mind is just "trained" for a gold-backed system (where more-&-more money means each dollar stands for less-&-less gold) and I should "re-train" for a "fiat" system (where each dollar is worth exactly the same, no matter how many dollars there are). I'm influenced by ... oh, what was the name of that economist that wrote that 'the more currency you make available, the more currency people will charge for their products-&-services (making the currency WORTH less-&-less the more-&-more of it there is)---Keynes! John Maynard Keynes ... with people saying 'that's a Keynesian way of thinking of the value of money' Or maybe that's just 'the general idea I got---not knowing 'the definitions of all the Economics-terminology' he used.

Mylot does not pay you for your work. They seem to pay you only if your hard work is liked by others. So probably we should call it winnings
