City wide garage sale

Do your cities or towns ever do this? A suburb just north of me had their "city wide" garage sale, a weekend where the city provides a map and there are a ton of garage sales. This city of 20,000 had over 70 individual garage sales.
Me, my sister and my mom headed out around 2pm to check out some of these sales. I am partial to thrift shopping, being a frugal clothes shopper so being second hand does not bother me if the item is in good shape.
We hit probably 10 sales in total, including one in a church basement. All in all I spent $16 and got about 4 shirts, 2 pairs of jeans, 1 dresa, a nice wicker basket, a candle, 2 books, and a sleeping bag for an upcoming camping trip! I thought I did pretty well. After the several hours and driving around I was exhausted!
Do you have these near you? Are you a garage saler?

We have a community garage sale twice a year and it's usually very successful Surrounding areas do have garage sales frequently

On Saturday I was seeing garage sales just about everywhere. It must be the day for it. I don't like to buy second-hand things. I prefer new!

There are yard and garage sales here but not a city wide effort.

That sounds like so much fun! I use to go to yard sales a lot with my step family, though I didn't enjoy having to get out of the car constantly as a kid, but it was a Sunday tradition haha
