Texting with my daughter from Europe.

Who would have thought it a couple of decades ago!!! Mi daughter is in Italy and we message each other in the cellphone. She quickly takes a picture of the leather purse she bought in Florence. I remind her that several decades ago I bought there lots of exquisite gloves. I still have them. They are soft and warm. Don´t forget to see the paintings by Botticelli, I write. I thank the phone that it corrects my typing errors. There should be a bigger keyboard for old ladies. The only bad thing about all this is that people take pictures and they don´t print anything. The cellphone is stolen, the memory fails or the computer stops working. Sometimes the software is changed and all is lost. Who remembers Works instead of Word? Who has things saved in floppy discs? Now we die quicker than before.

There are so many changes. ' We still have floppy disks here, but they aren't used of course. I remember works. I remember the old paint program. I remember the time before computers as well. You are right, no one saves copies of their pictures anymore. No one thinks to print them, though there are different gadgets being made now that make printing pictures from cellphones easier.

Last year, my 95 year old aunt gave me her old typewriter. I wanted to write as I did before. But the tape (?) ink had dried and I don´t know if they sell them any longer.

@marguicha I am sure you might be able to find some somewhere. I imagine someone has recreated something that would fit it, if nothing else.

It is amazing how these days we can chat with people on the other side of the world with our phones. Any picture I take, I post on a social media page or send it to my email. That way, I am saving it, so if anything should happen to the phone, there is a copy of the photo online.

I meant that when a cellphone is stolen, you lose information. BTW, Last year the burglars who entered my house stole my cellphone among other things.
