The gorgeus looking woman in the picture is currently having theraphy from Psychologists because she thinks she is ugly. When she looks at the mirror she sees a deformed woman with imperfect skin and deformed face. She have this feeling that people are disgusted on her face or they are laughing on her. This is a video of her making a speech about her mental disorder. I don't know what went wrong on her child for her to think she is ugly. At least she didn't resort to surgeries like most people with BDD do. Oh on Dr. Phil there is this Bombshell looking woman who is so afraid to go outside because she thinks she is extremelty ugly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwQP_d1vsC0

As they say it is all about confidence, There are people who dont look conventionally attractive but their confidence gave them careers in modelling and entertainment. Confidence can really get us far.

Well, it's a disorder and they just couldn't help to think of such things. We just need to understand them. Oh, there's also a disorder wherein a woman would think they are sooo pretty. (hehe) But overall, everyone is beautiful, and regardless of what they think of themselves, we should tell them they are beautiful as they really are.

Gosh, there really are all sorts of disorders. I do believe they have something connected to their childhood developments, but what do I know? Anyway, she is a beautiful woman, and I'm glad that in her speech, she thinks of herself much better. These types of disorders should be understood without judgment, and these people need to be encouraged as they are always beautiful.

@GopherDanny This woman is much more worst. She is so disgusted of herself she never gets out of the house. She thinks she is super ugly but she looks like a sexy siren. She compares herself to Instagram models which makes her more insecure. If I have daughters, I will make athletes as their rolemodels instead of models, actresses and popstars. Athletes promotes fit healthy bodies with healthy lifestyle. They care more about being strong than looking like barbie.
GIRL WON'T LEAVE HOUSE BECAUSE SHES UGLY! This girl thinks shes ugly so she won't leave her house... Leave a Like if you enjoyed! LUCKY PEOPLE https://www.yo...

I think there is a reason why Little girls should not be exposed in fashion magazines and their dolls should not be Barbie but dolls that look like little girls instead. They should be raised on realistic standards so they won't have insecurities.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Mmm, that would really work in their perception of themselves as they grow. Fashion magazines are just full of pictures of women with too much makeup and too much photoshop that little girls would want to imitate. And if they feel that they couldn't meet the standard, they'd start developing insecurities which would lead to such disorders. Great observation! Oh, and I also saw the girl that made her figure and face to look like a barbie... It's really weird and unnatural.

I have heard of BDD. It is hard for other people to understand what is going on. We can't see that they are ugly, but when they look in the mirror they see something that we don't see. Without treatment some of them hide from other people for years. I think that there are some similarities between BDD and eating disorders. They both see things that other people can't see, but people with eating disorders only focus on the things related to their weight.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Unfortunately some people with eating disorders don't want help. When my friend's weight was about 30 kg, she still thought that she was too fat. The things that I saw when I looked at her were different from the things she saw when she looked in the mirror.

i guess it's a bit like eating disorders. everyone can see they're dangerously underweight already, but they still see things differently in the mirror.

This is Eugenia Cooney, this girl thinks she is fat and needs to lose weight. So I get what you mean. This girl needs to change her lifestyle and realize she is not fat and she needs to eat a burger.

If someone important to the person rejects them and calls them ugly, women take it to heart and really believe that they are. It could be a father, boyfriend, or husband, the hurt is there and never goes away.

There are reasons behind her behavior. One is her childhood experiences, maybe she was bullied and teased as ugly. Another reason is the family, maybe she was or is not accepted and loved as she is. Different reasons could be link to her behavior and belief in herself. That lady needs encouragement. She needs people that will boost her self- confidence and could help her change her belief to herself.

She is getting therapy now and she is also a speaker who helps motivate girls with same insecurities with her. It seemed like pretty women might actually be more insecure and many of them are not aware on how beautiful they are because of the standards they wish they have.

@nela13 Seriously a lot of tv shows are stupid. They will cast a supermodel looking woman to play an impoverished village girl. I am suppose to believe she is a Garbage collector. She have gorgeous make up on an outfit that shows her curves and she wears high heels. Her hair is styled like a bombshell. Then those fashion magazines have unrealistic beauty standards.

@JohnRoberts If they want to resort to surgery, They should go to Korea instead because the doctors there at least know what they are doing. Hollywood surgeons always have terrible results.
