The Scent of the Fortune plant

Hello there! It is nice to be here again. Sorry if I was not here often. I still have Jetlag and I am still mourning for the lose of our beloved dog.
Yesterday, my siblings and some of their children were having a bonding time together with myself, dividing what my late fathers left for us. As my father is more than a year dead now, I organised our family bonding again.
Clothes, shoes. blood pressure gadgets and other things from our dead father, were distributed yesterday respectively to my siblings. I only need the old sewing machine and I got it.
It was already dark when my siblings said good bye to me. They were already outside the gate when I noticed the strong scent of fortune flower near the gate. I stopped walking and asked my siblings to go back inside the gate and I told them, "smell and sniff yourself. Tell me what you thought,"
" Father". It came out like a pistol from our mouth. There was a strong smell of fortune flower in my garden near the gate. It is the flower my late father didn't like but he knew it was the scented flower we daughters loved.
Was the spirit of our father with us while my siblings were selecting what they loved to have as remembrance of my late father? If that was the case, I am sure he was happy seeing his children in good harmony.
Have you experienced something like that before? What was it? A rose or so?

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog and father. It can be hard to get together to distribute what belonged to him. I'm glad you have good memories of him in that flower.
I have some things that belonged to my parents and grandmother.

Don't you have this flower in India @allknowing? Yes, it is indeed touching. I smelt it for the first time when I was boarding in the airport after a few weeks since I buried my father last year. It was the first time my father couldn't say goodbye to me physically in the airport.He knew that I love the scent of fortune flower.

Yes I have, after my daddy passes away I was sitting in the living room reading and out of no where i could smell his aftershave that he wore ever day pass me like he walked by me.
Right away I knew it was my daddy and I said hi to him. Still to this day I will smell him and I know he is just showing me that he is still here in away.

I do believe he could have been near. I know whenever special people I have lost are near I can sometimes pick up different scents. With my mom, it was her perfume.

I do believe that, too @RasmaSandra. The other night, my cousin told me that she smelled that fortune flower again when she went to her small kiosk near our gate. We are not scared though.

Again, I'm so sorry about your sweet Angus. I also think you have such a wonderful family to wait until your return to deal with your father's belongings. It was a sign from your dad when you all smelled your beautifully scented flower. I felt my mother's breath on me after she passed. I know she was checking on me before I fell asleep.

i hope Angus and my dog are playing in that rainbow bridge, guarding us as always.
i like the scent of the fortune plant, but when we smell the fragrance of the rose or the perfume of my father, we surely know our parents are visiting us.
